MORE ON MY VIEWS ON RECYCLING

Following my last post on recycling, I got two comments back (from my usual readers- all of them!) I have edited them, and here they are for reference:-

Divemaster GranDad said...
That's the sad part of recycling. It's seen as expensive and thus not worth the time and effort. I think that if the right products are manufactured in the first place, recycling will be at a minimal straight away, but for any residual waste, that can be recycled easily. Unfortunately, humans are wasteful creatures that want maximum return on as little investment as possible, and damn the environment in the process.
Fishman said...
But it also depends on the availability of the waste. If it is used in road construction for example, how will you get the it to the construction site? I know they had this idea to recycle used tyres to add to bitumen for road laying. But the transport cost did not make it viable.

So, the reality is that as these resources become more scarce, and as the world recognizes that the continued poisoning of the environment cannot continue, the motivation for the recycling of product will grow.
In the example of tyres, from Fishman, the tyre manufacturers will be tasked to ensure that every tyre that is replaced is returned to them / a central collection point. The manufacturers could, in turn, elect a 3rd party at a central point and make them responsible for this. This would ensure greater numbers of old tyres coming to a single repository  thereby making the next steps to recycling more cheaper, and viable. The permit to conduct business in country could be linked to the proof of recycling! I know it may impact on the cost of the tyre, but at least it will happen.

This might sound a bit out there, but consider the following:-
Olive oil manufacturers will soon have to be able to prove that they have disposed of the waste from their production in a controlled, and environmentally friendly manner. If not, they will be fined, and their production permit revoked! Yup, they have for years just dug the stuff back into the ground, thinking it would rot away, and become "compost". Well, guess what - it does not. In fact, the ground becomes so saturated with oil, that nothing will grow there again for a very, very long time!
Wine producers will be faced with the same problem with the waste product after they have pressed their wine. The waste, which used to be dug into the ground, has now been proven to raise acidity levels to beyond acceptable, and it is having a negative effect on the quality of the soil!
And so with most other products / manufacturers. Internationally, motor car manufacturers are being pressed to design their vehicles so that most of it can be recycled once it reaches end of life.

I know that for now it's going to be difficult to motivate, so, the powers that be will legislate. And maybe, in 3rd world countries they may be a bit relaxed about these issues, and some would say it would be difficult to police, but there are ways and means. Soon enough, it becomes the norm, as creating all this waste has become the norm.

Just my thoughts and opinion.

Update - long overdue

I will have to post this update in a few posts, otherwise you could lose interest, and stop reading.
So, whats been going on with me?
Well, most of my 5 regular readers soon found out that my blog was no longer available for viewing. This was because I decided to "hide" it till I had worked my last day with my employer - 10 September 2012. I had posted quite a lot of "stuff" about my employer, and conditions here, and my dissatisfaction, and I didn't want to compromise my severance pay because of it. Basically, my offer for separation says something about not sharing the information of the offer, and not saying bad stuff about the employer, etc., and I probably have been. Anyway, that was my reasoning for blocking the page.

So here is an update on various previous posts:-

AlanP - so my mate AlanP had his operation, and went home - after about 2 weeks, give or take a few days. There he seemed OK, until about 2 weeks later, he started to run extremely high fevers. After 2 days, he decided to contact the doctor who had operated on him, and was advised to see his local doctor, and get a bed in the local hospital for assessment, and to get the fever under control. As luck would have it, there were no beds in the local hospital, so at 9 at night, I got a call from him to say he and his wife were going to drive the 160km (give or take) to Durban, to the hospital where he had been operated on. They got there, spent a few hours in the casualty ward till a doctor signed him in. After an assessment, they put a tube into him, through his back, into the "space" left by the removal of spleen and cancer tumor, and drained nearly half a liter of old, blood! this is what had caused the infection, and thus the high fevers. Anyway, after 10 days (today in fact 06 Sept,) he was sent home again. Lets hope this is done now, apart from the next chemo sessions which are due to start in a week or two.

Service please - So I posted about a situation I had at the local Makro store (the one in Clearwater). Anyway, I had put it behind me. My mistake. Last week Wednesday, I'm sitting in the office at about 8.30am, and I get a call from LuckyL, saying there are 4 (four) cops (plainclothes) at the house looking for me. Said it had something to do with the assault at Makro. I asked which station they were from, and arranged, through him, to meet them there. Damn, I can be seriously stupid sometimes! Anyway, by 9.30 I'm at the station. Takes me about 20 minutes to find the detective in charge of my case. She says it's a charge of Assault - Common, so as soon as the does the paper work, takes my finger prints, etc. I can go. Just need to appear in court then next day. At no time to I admit to the charge, nor offer any statement / comment, other than to ask how they got to me. Seems the guys at the store took note of my vehicle's number plate! Well then, could have been another car with same plates as mine, or, someone else driving my car?!? Not that she cared. Anyway, as we finishing off the paperwork and stuff, the goons who were at my house turn up, drop the files on her desk, and leave. She pulls my docket, and says "Sorry, I have to arrest you, it's Assault - GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm!) What the FUCK??? I check, sure as hell, there's a doctors note in the file, as well as his statement - the only part I get to dread before she closes the file is " and he hit me with an unknown object"! I have since renamed my right hand "Weapon of Mass destruction!" Anyway, now this was serious, she had to arrest me, and it was too late (according to Africa time) to get me in front of a magistrate to arrange for bail. I got hold of the Princess, LuckyL and GMan. And my lawyer.
Cut to the details - I spent 6 hours in lockup, no water, food or smoking. The floor was covered in urine. I stood for 6 hours. At 5 pm they came to move me to another police station, which has overnight holding cells. In the meantime, I assumed, my lawyer was working through the detective, and after hours Public Prosecutor, to get me bail, so I could at least sleep at home! Yea right, the cunt didn't even bother to follow the advise / instructions given to him by the arresting detective, and basically did fuckall! GMan, and LuckyL had come to the station just before I was "arrested", and took away all my personal belongings, as well as my car. They also worked tirelessly to try and get the dots connected to get me out. After fuckall had been done by 4pm, GMan decided he knew just what had to be done to get his dad home.
After being shown from pillar to post, and everyone in-between, he eventually got hold of the person who had taken over the docket after the previous shift knocked off for the day. He approached the African Detective in the charge office, and asked if there was an office they could meet in, as he was not comfortable to talk in a noisy public place. I don't have the details (well, not for public consumption anyway), but suffice to say that with the right motivation, a lawyer, and a public prosecutor were found, a bail applied for and granted, and by 11 pm I was on my way home with GMan, cigarettes, 500ml Coke Zero, and a receipt for ZAR1000.00 bail. Oh, and instructions to appear before a magistrate on Friday 31 August in the same town that I was held in for "overnight"!

To be continued.

Service Please!

Every now and then I get into a store where the service just does not meet my expectations. Don't get me wrong, I know the limitations of our Previously Disadvantaged Individuals, so my expectations from them is quite low, but hey, is it my fault that the Limpopo province Education department decided to throw all the school text books away, instead of delivering them to the schools? Is it my fault that in 18 years the ANC Regime has been unable to deliver a reasonable level of education? Is it my fault that the PDI's have the mentality, and attitude of people born to beg? Be beaten? Be really stupid?
No.

So, I can be your best customer, or, if you wish I will be the customer from hell. I leave the decision to you as the service provider, salesman, customer facing person.

Saturday, 14 July 2012. LuckyL and I go into the local Makro store (LIU). We are on a mission here to procure, at the best possible price, with the minimum disruption a 30" flat screen TV, a DSTV decoder, and a wall bracket to mount the TV on the wall. All of the above items to be procured are for installation in the Matriarchs home.

We had done our on-line investigation before leaving home, and found what we wanted, at what store, and for how much. This should be a quick in and out excursion into the realms of the retail world.

A requirement here in sunny South Africa when you want to buy a TV, is that you must produce a valid TV license. It's stupid really, because a) The license fees go to the State owned (and run) broadcaster - SABC, and even though you might never ever watch any of the boring, politically incorrect, and grammatically challenged channels that they broadcast, you have to have a license to get a TV. OK, so we have one in the family. It happens to be on the Princess's name, but it's OUR FAMILY TV LICENSE!

So, armed with the TV license, my ID Document, credit card, debit card, and cheque book (you never know), the two of enter the bellows of the Makro monster, where people are spending money they don't have, salesmen are either non-existent, or un-knowledgeable, (or both) and the queues are not for the feint hearted.

We quickly move over to the area where we know the good we want to buy are displayed. We find a salesman - yup, PDI, but then today you don't find too many sales people in this kind of environment that are not PDI's. I have a very low expectation of / from him. "Do you have stock of this TV product that's on special?" "yes." "OK, get me one." And I need a DSTV Decoder, and a wall bracket. We get the wall bracket, look at the DSTV decoders, and don't find the model we want, so park that, we will get it elsewhere. OK, go get me a TV from the stock room. At this point he needs my TV License, and ID Document. The names don't match. License is on the Princesses name, and it's my ID. "Sorry, we can't do that", he says. I explain that I bought a TV from another retail this way a few month previously. All they need is to make a copy of the license, my ID document, then enter the Princesses ID number into the system to verify that the License is current and paid up.

Blank look. This is not how it's written on the blackboard which doubles up as his brain. "Call me a manager please, and we can resolve this," I say. Expecting that the manager might have a blackboard with side notes that would explain this deviation from the process, and take us through the next steps without hiccups.
Ah, I have too much faith in my fellow earth dwellers, and give too much credit where it's oh, so not due! I should in fact have asked for "Get me a white manager!", that may have been better, but I was not in the mood to insult the salesperson, yet. The PDI manager arrives. (How did he become a manager I have to ask myself? Is it because he's been with the company for the longest of all the other salespeople? Is it natural progression based on sales achievements. or, and I suspect this is the reason, it's the Makro way of getting BEE points! (BEE - LIU)

Anyway, I explain the situation to him. He says we can't do that, we need the ID book of the person named on the TV License. I know that's crap, but decide I'll take my business elsewhere. I really was not going to get into this with these cretins at this time.

My parting comment was "Ah, that's bullshit!", and I start to turn to go. His comeback to me was "Maybe you must take your bullshit somewhere else!" I heard it, but didn't react, well, not immediately anyway. LuckyL, who had been standing by all this time, went ballistic straight off the blasting pad. Calm to suicidal murderer in one second. "Come outside and I'll teach you about bullshit!" he says to the PDI manager. I spin around to check for reactions, and this fucking moron - who is a manager - and is standing with one of his salespeople - comes back with - "We go outside and I will fuck you up!"

That was my cue - ballistic in 1 second - I reach out for him with the sole intention to rip his head off, shit on his lungs through the now open cavity, and then report him for having bad breath! I intended to rip his arm off, and beat him with the bloody end. I really pictured how I would put his head through the front of a 40" HD LCD flat screen TV. But before I could deliver the 'coup de grace", we were surrounded by more PDI sales people than I ever imagined worked at this place!!!! I challenged him, a few times, he kept giving me lip, so at the first opportunity I had that I got within reach of him, I gave him what is affectionately referred to in South Africa as a solid POES KLAP!

The level of surprise on his face was priceless. The efforts of them who were trying to keep us apart increased tenfold. I was mad. This mother was going down! It took a few minutes for a white manager to turn up, take control. At this time - he who had the stinging face was telling the others not to let us leave - was on his phone, apparently to phone the police! Good idea I told him, then they can fuck you up as well!

The white guy (Risk Manager) calmed things down some, asked what was going on, got a bit of the story from me, and asked me for my details. "What for?" I asked, and he just gave me his card and said, thought I could maybe of help to you, but here's my card, you can contact me if need be. At this point I calmly said, tell that fuck to let me leave, before I really get pissed off. And that was that!!!! One of the security / salespeople (not sure what he was other then PDI) seemed to follow us out. Probably to get my registration number. No problem.

Yesterday I went onto the Makro website, and sent them this email:-

Makro StrubensValley
On Saturday morning I went to the above store with my son. We went to buy a TV, a DSTV decoder and a wall mounting bracket. I had the family TV license (on my wife's name) and my ID Book. I had previously bought a TV this way, so thought it would be OK, as the TV license gets verified online with the wife's ID number anyway. One of your salesmen told me it could not be done, as, according to him, the process had changed. I asked for a manager - some guy came over and said that's how it is, the rules had changed. My response was "That's bullshit"!(I accept that maybe it's not the way TV license checks are done, but that's a different discussion.) His response to me was "Take your bullshit and go somewhere else!" At this point I did not react, but my son called him out "Come outside and I'll teach you bullshit", or words to this effect. The salesman's response was "I'll fuck you up!" That put me on tilt, and I took him on. There were several Makro employees stepping between us, with him continuing to bait me, till I slapped him. Then he was all about calling the police, refusing to let us leave, etc. Eventually, the Risk Manager introduced himself, calmed the situation, gave me his card, and allowed us to leave. Well Done Mr. R/Manager - however, if this is the way your sales people talk to their clients, well, suffice to say I have cut up my card and will never be back. I am disgusted, and he's lucky to have got away with just a slap! Once outside I noticed one of the security people had followed us out, and probably made a note of my registration number. I don't have a problem with that either way, not too sure what he thinks he can do with a registration number. However,  I trust that Makro will, at the very least, make sure their staff know how to talk to the clients! Interested to hear your response in this matter.
Mr. X Xxxxxx - ex Client.

We went to another store, and bought what we wanted, with no problem. Methinks that kaffir was having a bad day, and I just gave him a reason to have a worse one!

Art or racism?

Here in our part of the world, we don't worry about starving children, sanitation problems, unemployment, crime, or any of the numerous other subjects that normal governments of countries around the world worry about. No, here in sunny South Africa, the biggest thing we worry about is racism. Yup, if anything happens, and a white person is involved, it is automatically labeled as racist, and the demons of the ANC are all over it like ugly on a monkey - or should that read "Like monkey on ugly"?!

So, what brings about this write? Well, art actually. Below are two paintings:-

The first painting, with a number of subjects, and depicting numerous questionable acts, was done by an African, a black African, around 2010.
The second one of Zuma with a flatteringly sized penis was done by a white person, 2012.

Now, the first one I didn't even know about until it was mentioned on a radio station this morning, as a comparison to the second. the reason it was brought up is that today (22 May 2012) the ANC are going to the South Gauteng Supreme court to have the second painting declared racist / unacceptable, and to have it removed from the wall of the gallery where it is now on display. Now I am not wanting to defend the painting in any way, in fact, I couldn't care either way if it stays on show or not. The problem here is that the ANC have attacked this specific painting ONLY because it was one by a white (European decent) person. Nothing else! Had any of them had any real opinions about art, and it's effect on it's subjects, or even regarding respecting the individual, then something would have been said / done about the first painting above.

Ultimately, it's always either a racist position, or, linked back to apartheid. This lot can  not get over their "You owe me" mentality. They will keep reflecting back to the "Bad old days" of apartheid. It's their way of keeping the masses in tow.  And it works.

I'm not going to try and guess what the outcome of the court case ill be, not will I try to guess who will pick up the costs. What I do know is that the painting has been sold - someone paid over ZAR130k for it (dumb ass), so even if it comes off the gallery wall, it's going to hang i someone's home / office. Can the ANC do anything about that? Maybe, with a bit of luck, it will land up in some gallery overseas, where the cry baby ANC and their committed blind mutton have no say. Who knows, we might then have an incident where someone blows up the gallery!!! Or, better still, we could have some bleeding heart protest in London where hundreds of chanting, ignorant, uneducated bores youth will take to the streets and protest for the "Respect of the ANC leadership", or some other dumbass topic.

Ultimately, I don't give a damn. Someone does a painting of me with a penis that size, I'm beating the crap out of him for reducing my manhood!!

Blog Update

I really don't like the new look of the blog "back office" stuff. That's this page where we go to when e want to write and post a new blog. It's not user friendly, I can't find half the stuff I want to, and it looks like a predecessor of the ark. Really backward stuff. Some things are best left alone, and this was one of them.

That said, there has been a whole lot going on here.
Matriarch, is settling in well in her apartment, and you can see improvement everyday in her walking and use of her arm. Added to that, she has started complaining about stupid little things again, so we know she's getting better.

Queenie is unchanged. Still drives me up the wall with her querkie things she does, but that's just who she is. I suppose we can't all be "normal"! Not that's she's abnormal, but she has "habits" which are just crazy. We think she's a bit OCD - and that explains a lot of why she does these little things she does!

GMan has decided he's going to the UK. Initially I thought it was a good thing, a) It would get him out of this bad environment he has got himself entrenched into, and away from the whole poker scene, and loan sharks, etc., b) It would get him away from the "girlfriend". Every other day he's telling us she's moving out, they have broken up, etc., but she's still there, still around.
So a) is on the button, b) is way off the mark. The girlfriends mom lives in the UK, with the new husband, and she's going to be going over to stay with them, and look for a job as well, and apply for a work permit / study permit / residency on the basis that her family are now resident in the UK. SO, instead of getting away from her, they going together. Ah well, it's his choice and his life. He plans to work as a dealer in the more legal gambling dens in London, London area. Apparently they pay quite well, and he will be staying (so he says) with another dealer friend who comes from there. Will see how that pans out. Ultimately, I think he's wasting his time, and hope he will find a real job once he's there.

LuckyL - well, where to start. Work wise he is really putting his everything into his job. So much so that he now has been told he's getting a 60% increase! it's not off a big base, but it was also not expected. Only worry I have is that come the end of the year he might not want to stop working, and go to varsity. But for now, I'm not giving him that option - and I plan to stick to that! He's also still enjoying the bikes (on and off road), but apart from me, does not have anyone to ride with him on-road.  So he's getting a bit disillusioned. It's no fun just riding to work every now and then on the bike. He wants to get out on a Sunday and burn up some miles, and it's not always fun doing it with Dad.

With GMan deciding to go overseas, they have given up their apartment, moved all of the girlfriends stuff into storage, and moved GMan's meager belongings into our place. Amongst his stuff is a big flat screen TV, a Playstation 3, and some other odds and ends. He also has a PVR Decoder. SO LuckyL and I installed the PVR into the lounge, and took my DSTV decoder up to our bedroom. We then, with much hassle, got the DSTV people to connect the second unit as a dual view so we have 2 x DSTV but only pay one subscription plus a nominal R60 a month for the second. It's worth it. We did all the rewiring through the roof ourselves, and had to redo, retry various options till we got it right. Then we split the cable going from the Lounge to the bedroom, and fed a line off it to LuckyL's bedroom. He has GMan's big flat screen set up there, and he has a "boom" channel changer. So, now when we go to bed at night, if the Princess wants to watch the end of a story, she can watch it in the room, with her own decoder, and can change channels there. LuckyL can watch DSTV from his room, via the downstairs decoder, and using the "Boom" channel changer, can change the channels from his room! Great stuff, especially for now with winter on our doorstep. Rather lie in a nice warm bed at night to watch a bit of TV, than sit downstairs in the lounge!!!

In the news recently has been quite a bit of interesting stuff. The Joe Public court case against the State and Sanral to stop the eTolling of our highways was successful! Well, to the point that they could not start tolling us yet, until further court action takes place, or the State find an alternative means to fund the "new" roads. And following this, the Sunday papers were full of information of who would be benefiting from the tolling - and it seems the ANC has more than just a small part in this. Talk about corruption! These Muther Farkrrs have taken it to a whole new level! And the way they plead ignorance to the fact is so pathetic. Just because the masses are too stupid to see through their act they think everyone will believe their drivel. Bunch of farking morons! From the president down to the sweeper in the Home affairs department. Complete farking morons.

Ok, go that off my chest.

Another interesting bit of news was some FHM model who was (again) sexually harassed by some kaffir! And the tweeted something about it, but used the word k@&&!r. And immediately the whole world took her on, FHM withdrew her position / nomination / status as MISS FHM 2011, and some of her sponsors withdrew their sponsorships as well. OK, they don't want to be associated with some one who uses the word k@&&!r. I get that. But nowhere has anyone said anything about that fucking k@&&!r that sexually harassed her! And to me that is the bigger issue here! You can sexually harass a woman, but she can't be calling you names, and especially not k@&&!r - because that's just not PC. Well fuck you very much world! It's like saying it's not rape if the attacker used a condom!!! Interestingly enough, another model (a darkie in this case) attacked her (tweeting - not physically) and made even more serious racial attackes!!! But I suppose because she's a previously disadvantaged k@&&!r, and was reacting to a "very serious racial slur" it will be accepted and forgiven!

Another interesting position in SA now is the Dept. of Education looking at banning cellphones from schools. There are many pro's and con's to this argument, which I am not going to expand on here, but suffice to say I think it goes against our constitutional rights to even consider this banning.  In today's time, communication and the ability to contact parents is a fundamental right, if not necessity, for any school pupil.

With regards the accident we were involved in in January, I have initiated talks with a friendly attorney who will assist us with the Road Accident Fund claim. This is more for Mom and her friend than myself. However, the amount of paper work required is frightening! Going to take me a few weeks to get it all together. But I know it's a long slow process, so will just keep at it.

With regards the new job, it's also slow going. Major problem is that the company cannot afford to pay me what I want at this time (want = need as a minimum). So for now I am doing some stuff for them in the background. I'm hoping to bring in a new client, who will buy a plant, that way I can earn a 10% commission (or more if I can wangle it) and use that to get rid of my bond, which means I can then work for a smaller salary! here's hoping I can pull this off!

This is my latest post on my facebook status:-
Interesting situation - You can get lambasted for Racism when reacting to a situation and posting a comment (defamatory I know) on it - But hey, nothing gets said about the Clown / Idiot / Previously Disadvantaged individual who sexually harassed her!!! So, in context, I understand that's it's OK to sexually harass a lady, but not be racist. That's a really severe crime! Tell you what - come and harass my Princess, and I'll show you racism, coupled with extreme violence, bad language, and if you really lucky, a 24" baton where it would hurt most!!!
On the sporting front,  it looks like Chelsea are on a roll - here's hoping they beat BM. Locally, our rugby teams are performing dismally in the super 15 / 16 - what is it now? As for the rest, who cares. I know the SA mens hockey team beat the crap out of a lot of other teams to qualify for the Olympics, but I now hear that they will have to fund the trip themselves! WTF?!?!
Anyway, enough for now.

Say what?

Been a hell of a week, what with having to go to the office every morning by 8 am for a meeting, and be there for a meeting at 4.30 - 5.30.... But I've done it. I can tell you that because of these hours, I find myself traveling in the worst of peak hour traffic, and my petrol bill doubled. Instead of 40 minutes on the road, I now take up to 2 hours (each way), and get less than 5 km/lt! That's what idling in the traffic does to your consumption!

So, what's been going on? Well, the darkie who looks after finances for the current regime had his budget speech this week. The new spend is now ZAR Trillion!!! Not sure what all the actual numbers are, don't care to much anyway. If anyone wants to know, Google it (LIU).

The part that interested me was that they slipped in a comment on the tolling of the highway around JHB.  This has been a seriously contested issue for some time, but the regime has decided we will pay to use this road. The problems with this are many.

Lets go back a bit - when the previous government was in power, a decision was taken to add a tax to the price of petrol for the specific use of roads maintenance. For many years this was used for it's intended purpose, and it worked well. Also, a tax was added to replace what was then known as 3rd part insurance, and a Road Accident Fund was initiated. This also worked well. Each year with budget time, this tax was raised a few cents, so the income kept up to date with the rising costs associated to these functions. Enter the new regime, them who thought that government had access to a bottomless pit of funds (and who probably still believe, like Mugabe, that if you need more money you just print it) and all taxes /income was put into a single bucket. From there allocations are made for the various departments in civil services. No separation of taxes. Suddenly we find the RAF is bankrupt. No money coming in from the state, and payouts which try to match the ridiculous payouts that the USA pays out to aggrieved persons.
Roads deteriorate - oh, I forgot to mention, the notion of ongoing maintenance is a completely foreign concept to the regime. Across the board. Take a look at municipal sewerage plants. take a look at Eskom power-line pylons. These used to be repainted on a regular basis (every 5 - 6 years). Now, they are rusting away, and soon the power generator and distributor is going to be asking for another increase in the power cost to replace pylons that are collapsing. Their argument will be "We inherited this from the Apartheid regime.....".

I digress. About 2 - 3 years ago, there was a big announcement that the Gautrain (LIU) was going to be built. The motivation was to take some of the pressure of the traffic. Made good sense. High speed train from PTA to JHB, as well as the international airport. I could see a benefit for many people (me excluded).
At the same time, there was a major upgrade to the highways around JHB and PTA. Extra lane/s added, new improved on and off ramps. All to make the traffic flow easier / faster / safer. Sounds good.

Next thing we know, they announce that the new roads (which were not new but revamped) would be tolled. Some fancy overhead gantries have been built all along the highway which will photograph the number plates of vehicles, and the owners thereof would receive a bill. Billing would be based on number of kilometers (per km) traveled on the roadway. No discussions before the fact. Oh, and taxi's (the bane of our lives, the biggest killers of passengers, the major cause of accidents, the non-tax paying business) would be exempt!!! That was a given, as the regime knows that the taxi industry would bring the country to it's knees with strike action, road blocks, go slows, etc. Road users have been asked to register, and a gadget would be given to them to fit into the car. This would then deduct the cost of the trip from their accounts automatically. Gadget owners would pay less than unregistered drivers. The budget speech basically said that tolling would go ahead, and that the fee per km would be subsidized by the state, so reduced to 30c per km. This is for normal cars, oh, and bikes by the way!!!! And, (and this burns my arse no end) the tolling will be administered by a company from Australia! Which means profits from the tolling will go out of country! WTF!!!!

So whats the link to the Gautrain? Well, this is interesting, and something I only recently read in a newspaper (fine print - back section - somewhere between prostitution / sex and jobs) - when the consortium that built and own and run the Gautrain were in negotiations with the regime, it was agreed that a minimum number of passengers would use the service on a daily basis. This would then in effect guarantee the service provider a specific income (as a minimum). If this number was not achieved, the state WOULD MAKE UP THE LOSS IN REVENUE FOR THAT PERIOD, ONGOING!!!!! Where the fuck have you ever heard of a company going into a venture, and getting financial support from the state of they don't achieve the revenues they think they should be making! When the whole toll saga on th highways was being discussed in the news, the Gautrain owners said that if the tolling did not take place, more people would make use of the now improved roadway, less would use the Gautrain, and so the state would have to pay in the difference!!!! So, as tax paying road users, we are fucked if we do, and fucked if we don't!

I'm not too sure how many people have registered for the tokens, but I know a damn lot are not going to. We want to make it as difficult as possible for the service providers to collect the tolls. They will have to amortize all my trips (based on photos) and bill me monthly. This for in excess of 120000 users per day. have a nice day morons!!!!! We may have to pay a bit more per km, but that's the price of resistance!

So here's  my idea. Take a container, convert it into a mobile public toilet facility. Put it down in a squatter camp. This is a basic necessity in every squatter camp in South Africa.Lets say - 3000 residents. Then I will charge each user to make use of the toilets. I can employ a cleaner / supervisor. (Job creation) However, I expect everyone of the residents to use my toilet at least once a day. If they don't, I expect the state to make up the difference in revenue! Think it will work?

Oh, maybe not - I'm not black / previously disadvantaged / connect to a current regime post holder / corrupt / ........

Education - South African style

So, front page of The Star, 29 June 2011 - Headlines read:-

Many of our kids can't read or write!

Following on dismal matric results over the past few years, some intelligent person stated that the reason for this is poor education at primary level. Of course no one would believe this, but they did do a national test on Grade 3 and 6 pupils, at government schools, and found that in fact, most of these pupils cannot read or write, arithmetic is a non-entity! And for most of those who could "read" that had no comprehension of what they were reading - basically mouthing words based on recognition of the letters!!!

And they are surprised! Why? We have been under the new regime since 1994. That's 17 years. Most of the kids writing matric this year were bone under the new regime. So, they can't blame apartheid education for the dismal performance - although  I am sure they will. They will claim that the system could not be fixed over night. OK, I'll buy that. But then, the kids in grade 3 started school 3 years ago, 14 years after the so called first democratic elections, and those in grade 6, 11 years after the so called FDE!

Apart from the fact that they have tried various forms of schooling (most of which failed elsewhere in the world before we tried them) and kept changing policy and process on an ongoing basis, apart from the fact that most of the teachers (especially in the rural schools) are under qualified, what other excuses can they have?

The basis of all of the above failures is, as far as I am concerned, the lack of respect for the school function from the parents down to the pupils. The fact that teachers will strike at the most critical times of the schooling year for better salaries, and that many of them only go to the school so as to qualify to collect their pay packets at the end of the month. Half of those morons would struggle to man a toll booth, never mind teach kids! I was "served" by a PDI yesterday in a shop in Pretoria. This young lady (probably around 18 - 20 years old) had no idea what she was doing. i don't care if you are new at your job. If you ring up 2 x pies, (at R12.50 each) and the till shows a grand total of R12.50, don't argue with the client that it must be right, it's fucking wrong. And when you looking for the bar code on the bottle of milk so as to scan it - it's that funny block filled with lots of little lines, why did you have to rotate the bottle 4 times (right around - 4 x 360 deg revolutions) in front of the scanner hoping it would find the bar code you obviously could not!!!

This person is definitely a product of the new regime education system, and is, in my humble opinion, unemployable! In fact, she would struggle to work in our home as a domestic - the Princess would never get past day 1 with her around!!!

So, back to the primary school kids. This tested generation then, is, for all intents and purposes, another "lost generation"! There is no way that the grade 6 kids can be brought up to speed now, they barely have 6 years left at school, and are now going into the geography, History, Mathematics, Physics domains - these teachers have not got the time to teach them to read, write, and do basic maths!

The grade 3 kids, if held back for a year, and given special catch up tutoring, might have a chance. I am willing to bet that most of the kids who did in fact pass the test will come from mainly White and Indian homes. Reason:- Cause those parents care, they try to assist, make sure the kids go to school regularly, do their homework, AND - most of all - have respect for their teachers.

And therein lies the fundamental problem with our country. There is no respect. Kids don't have self respect, have no respect for their parents, peers, or teachers! If there is no respect, you don't take them seriously, so don't learn anything - and become another Julius Malema - come to think of it, we might have a generation of potential politicians in the making!!!!

Bono - U2 are a moron, just like Julius Malema!

So, all of you will know, by now, the row caused by what was probably a stupid remark made by this bone head Bono, regarding the ANC Youth League singing of the song "Kill the Boer, kill the farmer".

I have done the research on Google, and almost all of the news items posted the same / similar stories. What it comes down to is that he said there is a place for freedom songs, and they might be retained, and sung even, in the right places, and at the right time.

What this Irish moron does not appreciate it the fact that it is sung, at public gatherings, by an illiterate moron, to an illiterate and disillusioned crowd, who take the instruction literary, and go out and kill a couple of farmers!!!! So, is it still acceptable? Do the Irish still sing their struggle songs in public, to large embittered crowds, with the same reaction that these local morons have? Do the Irish go out and kill a couple of Catholics / Protestants, cause the clown on the stage sang a song that said they should? I think not, and therein lies the problem.

it has been said that more farmers, ad their families have been killed in South Africa in the past 2 years, than all the British soldiers during both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars together! Go figure!!!

So, my personal note to bonehead Bono - Fuck off bro. Go back to Ireland, and see if you can get some skinhead to do your mama, just cause she's from the wrong side. Maybe better if you stick to music, cause you suck as a politician! And I don't give a fuck how popular or successful you might be, you still a dumbass!!!!

The Killing Of Whites In South Africa.
Since the Black takeover in 1994, 1,368 White farmers have been murdered in farm invasions and attacks that number in the multiple thousands. More than half of the White farmers have given up and left their farms permanently, contributing to the region's looming famine. And yet this is not an issue in the Jewish media. South African farmers now suffer the highest murder rate in the world -- 274 per 100,000. In a study commissioned by a leading South African bank, Nedbank, it was revealed that the Black attackers are

"'deliberately targeting specific homesteads to kill the [White] Afrikaner victims': robbery was not the prime motivation, in fact in 85% of last year's farm attacks, nothing had been 'robbed.'"

In other words, killing the White man, raping and killing the White woman, raping and killing the White child are the real motivations. And yet this is not an issue in the American media.
Go read the rest for yourselves.......

For the not so sensitive, go to your Google search line, type "farm killings south africa", and then select images..... But beware, it's not for the queasy!
So, my final comment in this regard, if you don't know what it's about, better shut your mouth, or someone will shut it for you!

As usual in Africa

Every winter, we are inundated with veld fires (LIU). For whatever reason, every winter the locals set fire to every bit of veld that's covered in dead veld grass, so we have a constant horizon that's blurred, and smokey. The threat to farms, and the actulal loss of livestock every year it enourmous. Yet, they continue to do it. Fire engines are constantly being called to help control many of these firs, as they can get quite close to residential dwellings.
The attached photos I took from the deck at our home. We overlook the neighbors place, and a few days ago, the veld below their place was set alight. I spotted the neighbor walking all along his fence as the flames made their way down, trying to keep them back using his garden hose, which would have been of no help had the flames jumped into the trees on his property.

It soon burned itself out, without anything more than an inconveninace to all those living in the area caused mainly due to smoke, and soot flying around. At least now that's done, so we wont have to worry about it till next year this time.

One thats been around in various forms

but still makes entertaining reading.

THIS IS EXCELLENT AND SO TRUE!!!

This was a reply to an article, in the Mercury (last week), where the previously disadvantaged (Blacks) stated that it's not too late for the previously advantaged
(including whites, Indians and Coloreds) to apologize for apartheid.

Check out the reply. Just too hot and so true.
This was in the SA paper (Mercury). The main headline stated the following:
It's not too late for whites to say sorry for Apartheid.............
Check the email that went around responding to the headline. It's a kick ass response. The guy that wrote it has got it !!!
'To the Previously Disadvantaged'

We are sorry that our ancestors were intelligent, advanced and daring enough to explore the wild oceans to discover new countries and develop them.
We are sorry that those who came before us took you out of the bush and taught you that there was more to life than beating drums, killing each other and chasing animals with sticks and stones.
We are sorry that they planned, funded and developed roads, towns, mines, factories, airports and harbours, all of which you now claim to be your long deprived inheritance giving you every right to change and rename these at your discretion.
We are sorry that our parents taught us the value of small but strong families, to not breed like rabbits and end up as underfed, diseased, illiterate shack dwellers living in poverty.
We are sorry that when the evil apartheid government provided you with schools, you decided they'd look better without windows or in piles of ashes.
We happily gave up those bad days of getting spanked in our all white Schools for doing something wrong, and much prefer these days of freedom where problems can be resolved with knives and guns.
We are sorry that it is hard to shake off the bitterness of the past when you keep on raping, torturing and killing our friends and family members, and then hide behind the fence of 'human rights' with smiles on your faces.
We are sorry that we do not trust the government... We have no reason to be so suspicious because none of these poor "hard working intellectuals"
have ever been involved in any form of "corruption or irregularities".
We are sorry that we do not trust the police force and, even though they have openly admitted that they have lost the war against crime and
criminals, we should not be negative and just ignore their corruption and carry on hoping for the best.
We are sorry that it is more important to you to have players of colour in our national teams than winning games and promoting patriotism. We know that sponsorship doesn't depend on a team's success.
We are sorry that our border posts have been flung open and now left you competing for jobs against illegal immigrants from our beautiful
neighbouring countries. All of them countries that have grown into economic powerhouses after kicking out the 'settlers'.
We are sorry that we don't believe in witchcraft, beet root and garlic cures, urinating on street corners, virginity testing, slaughtering of bulls
in our back yards, trading women for cattle and other barbaric practices.
Maybe we just grew up differently.
We are sorry that your medical care, water supplies, roads, railways and electricity supplies are going down the toilet because skilled people
who could have planned for and resolved these issues had to be thrown away because they were of the wrong ethnic background and now have to work in foreign countries where their skills are highly appreciated.
We are so sorry that we'd like this country to fulfil its potential so we can once again be proud South Africans.

And in the news... (ONLY in Africa....)

A 2 year old girl was admitted to a government hospital for treatment as she had badly burned both hands in a tub of very, very hot water. The hospital staff admitted her, and put a drip in her leg / foot. After a few days, they decided to move her to another government hospital, as there was no improvement, and she needed specialised treatment.
At the second hospital she was admitted, looked at, booked for theater.
Where the proceeded to remove both her feet! YUP! They amputated her two little healthy feet.

Now the parents are suing, the DA is asking for answers, and for heads to roll. What about this poor child with badly burnt hands, and no feet?

Toddlers' legs amputated by mistake

Created: Monday, November 30, 2009 Print

A two-year-old girl who was admitted to a Johannesburg hospital for burn marks on her hands landed up having both legs amputated, the Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development said.

"The toddler...was admitted at Far East Rand Hospital and later transferred to Charlotte Maxeke Academic hospital to be treated for burns on her hands. Instead she ended up with her legs being amputated, " said departmental spokesman Mandla Sidu in a statement.

He said the Gauteng Health MEC has called a meeting for Monday with hospital personnel about the incident of negligence to which Thembisa Kometsi from Daveyton was victim.

"Those found to be guilty of negligence...disciplinary action will taken against them which may lead to dismissal", said Mahlangu.

Also in South Africa, with the advent of the so called "First Democratic Government" was the installation of a mandate that as much business as possible should be awarded to those deemed to be previously disadvantaged. (For what it's worth, I think they still disadvantaged - I mean, they black aren't they?)

Anyway, in many instances contracts are awarded to Africans who have registered companies, and know some one who knows someone, or are related to the decision makers of the awarding business. The fact that they have no track record, no proof of actually being able to deliver on the requirement is irrelevant.
Here is an example:-
a) Leratong hospital had for years (20 or more) bought all of it's daily milk requirements from a local dairy farmer, who had the processing plant to do all the required pasteurizing , etc. of the milk. Each time the tender was reissued, he won it, on the basis he was located so close to the hospital, he had almost zero delivery costs, and could beat the competition by 2 - 3 cents per liter. And his sevrice was regular, on time, and good!
So, about 1994 or 1995, the hospital issues a tender for milk. The usual respondents submit thier pricing proposals. As well as a darkie, who knows / is related to / sleeps with whomever is in charge of the decision making process. His proposal is 3 cents per liter more expensive than that of the farmer who has been the regular supplier, but on the basis of his being previously disadvantaged, he gets "credited" for the differance, and wins the tender. Great. But, he has no cows, no farm, does not even have a proper home. He lives in a squatter camp, across the road from the hospital, and his postal address is "poste Restante" at the local post office.
SO, what now? No problem, he approaches the farmer who always supplied the milk, signs a back to back agreement with him to supply the milk on his behalf, and do all of the delivery, invoicing, ect. and takes his cut. 2 - 3 cents per liter. Luvly!

b) This story is even worse:-

More medical waste dumps found
2009-12-02 21:05

* R5m for dumping medical waste
* Waste company faces R10m fine
* Waste head steps down

Johannesburg - The Green Scorpions on Wednesday found another two sites of buried medical waste in the Welkom area in the Free State.

They were found buried on the Jonkerus Farm, 25 km outside the town, and on the Welkom Showgrounds, said chief director for regulatory services in the environmental affairs department, also known as the Green Scorpions, Sonnyboy Bapela.

"It's a crime scene now."

Each waste site was about 10 metres wide. The site on the Showgrounds was at least two metres deep.

Investigators have so far found syringes, scalpels, used bandages, discarded medications as well as amputated limbs, placentas and foetuses.

Wind caused waste to fly around

In a statement the Department of Environmental Affairs warned that the waste "poses a health and bio-hazard risk to the people that may come into contact with it, as well as a risk that significant harm may be caused to the environment."

Further excavation was made impossible due to windy conditions.

"Because of the wind, the medical waste started to fly around."

Investigators have re-buried the waste until a suitable solution for disposal, either a certified landfill or incinerator, could be found.

"It will not be wise to leave it open."

Bapela said the owners of the properties would be served with legal notices before the waste could be moved. Bapela said he could not yet identify who was responsible for dumping the waste illegally.

"We still have to identify the owner who brought the waste there."

R10m fine, 10 years in jail

The improper dumping of medical waste can result in criminal charges. This includes a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment, a fine of R10m or both, according to the department.

Bapela said the information on the new sites came from journalists who had interviewed Gavin Brasher, owner of Maximus Bricks, where the first illegal medical waste site was found on Friday.

"The owner of the brickyard indicated other sites where waste is buried," said Bapela.

The Sunday Times reported that 300 tons of medical waste had been found on Brasher's property.

It had been dumped there by South Africa's second-largest waste management company, Wasteman. It included bandages, body parts and used syringes.

Company's properties searched

The departments said investigators had searched Wasteman's headquarters in Johannesburg, as well as a company incinerator in Klerksdorp and a treatment facility in Durban.

According to the Times, the Wasteman Group and its affiliate Phambili Wasteman had multi-million rand contracts with over 150 private and government hospitals and clinics.

Wasteman's chief executive Vincent Charnley temporarily quit as head of the Institute of Waste Management for Southern Africa. On Monday his company was suspended from the organisation.

Operations at Maximus Bricks had ceased, and security guards had been posted at all three sites for reasons of public safety, the department said.

African Culture

I read with interest in this weekend's Sunday Times:-
There has been a lot of comment / complaint about the blowing of the vuvuzela's (LIU) at the soccer games, here in South Africa. This week there was another response from an African reader / sports follower / supporter......

"It's in out culture" he said, and went on with a long explanation of this and other forms of celebration ad nauseum....

Really? Something which has been introduced to the world, and South Africa in the past, what, 5 years? is now part of the African culture? Interesting.
So then, can we assume, in so far as it's the norm, and practiced by a very large percentage of our black population that the following things are also part of the African Culture:-

Rape - both female and children
Murder - especially of defenseless victims like the elderly, women, children
Theft - across the spectrum from cell phones to cars
Corruption - across the spectrum.

Lets see:-
Rape :- The current president was accused of rape. Ok, he was found not guilty, but under questionable circumstances.
Murder :- The current regime supported / supports Robert Mugabe, he of Zimbabwe fame, even though it is proven he has been directly involved in the murder of thousands of his own people, starting with the massacre in Matabeleland shortly after he came to power.
Theft :- this is so common that these days if you are unable to identify the person responsible for the deed, the SAPS don't even want to open a docket - although for insurance purposes you must force them to
Corruption :- The current President was accused of corruption. He got off, probably due to a corruption of the relevany players. Most of the current MP's have been responsible for corrupt activities in one form or another, the "travel gate" scandal, allocating tenders to family and friends...

Yup, I think the above can be regarded as part of the African culture, so should in fact be removed from the books where they are listed as crimes. I mean, it cannot be a crime if it's in your culture.

What do you think?

Some stuff worth posting

And the local population actually spend money on this? And then they submit a claim to their medical aids for reimbursement!! We need more of these cranks, along with TB, HIV AIDS (which does not exist) Malaria, Despotic dictators (a la Mugabe) and hippos, we may eventually eradicate this earth of a typical scourge.....

Though this was quite funny. No, I don't care if you don't find them funny. Not my fault you're sick and have no sense of humor.....
And this is a follow up on a previous post where some doos working for the Durban metro ( I know they have another name) was so upset by citizens spray painting over the street names he had had changed with out consultation, he sumarily had all the street name boards removed!!! Now one one knows whwre the fuck they are, or where they are going to? Surely there's a case for abuse of power, stupidity, endangerment of the public, something that can be done to get this guy committed. I mean, he's got to be a complete fucking moron ( Ok, I know he is) but then surely the locals down there should suspect the same?
Wish he was in my local council. I certainly would have taken him to task. Me and another couple of thousand like thinking citizens.
Doos.

Is this for real? Would seem so.....

A regular occurrence at the Mfuwe Lodge in the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia where the lodge was unwittingly built on the Elephant's traditional path through to some wild mango trees on the property. The herd of a dozen or so elephants walk through the lodge's reception area at least twice a day for about 4 weeks and then sporadically for about another 3 weeks to feed on the trees. No incidents reported to date!
This is stunning!

In the news this weekend

The ANC leadership (party leaders, not government leaders) have decided that Little Thabo (the worlds shortest leader) must go. And it would seem he agrees with them.
Most "people" welcomed this action, but not those who have any understanding of the impact it will have on out economy, the view on South Africa from the rest of the world, and the fact that this is just another move on the part of the ANC to get the charges pending over Zuma's head to go away. Time will tell, but I think this stinks (not that I give Thabo any credence), but because I think there is more to come. Thabo's brother, a political analyst, and one who regularlt took Thabo to task, has said it's a step closer to "civil war" from here.

Rumour has it that Thabo and some of his cronies may be planning a breakaway party, and in doing so could cause a split in the ANC. Now this is good! However, it's just a romour for now. And I don't think it will break the ANC up enough for a serious challenge as the ruling party. However, if it's a close call, and there is some discussion and agreement between the smaller parties, thetre is a chance, however slim, that the ANC could be unseated. Ahh, history in the making.

School ground killing....

Driving home yesterday, I heard on the news broadcast on the radio about a young man (final year at school) who had gone to school dressed in strange clothing, and wearing a mask, supposedly like those worn by a band called Slipknot, and carrying one or more samurai swords. On arrival at the school he struck a fellow pupil, 16 yrs old in the neck / throat, killing him! He then attacked two of the gardeners, and wounded another pupil, before, I suppose, he was overpowered and disarmed. According to statements released he had said "The devil told me to do it!".
Initially I panicked as they said the school is on the West Rand - that's where I live and my boys go to school. They did later state the name of the school, and it's not where my boys go to.
Needless to say, the newspapers are full of this story, with all and sundry, now experts having something to say about the causes. And this morning on the radio driving to work, more of the same.
Satanism, drugs and drug abuse, and rock music are the three major elements being discussed, however, I did hear one reporter on TV last night asking an "expert" if she thought that maybe movies, TV and playstation / pc games could have contributed.

My theory?
I think there are multiple reasons why this event took place. I do not believe that rock music had anything to do with it at all, not even if he does listen to "Slipknot", whomever they might be.
In an sms sent to the radio station I listen to i said, initial blame is probably with his parents, for letting him buy the Samurai sword(s). Then with the relevant authorities that allow the importation and uncontrolled sale of these "weapons".
I think that it's probably a condition relevant to today's lifestyle. Kids are not taught self respect, are not shown any respect by their parents and therefore do not have a sense of respect for their fellow man / animal / personal belongings. I know I generalise, but this should be read in the context of the above incident.

Schools did away with disciple, so there is no clear understanding for respect for your elders / teachers, and this could lead to a perception that as the teachers / headmasters are toothless wonders, so then possible are the police, etc. it's a contribution to the total breakdown of, and lack of respect for, authority.
It's most likely that this kid was on drugs, probably involved in some sick "satanic" sect, and might even be the product of some serious abuse.
Whichever way you cut it, there is a family who have lost a son, and another who are losing (have lost) another.

At home last night GMan was telling me they had an incident at his school as well. Seems like a boy stabbed another in the top cheek (just below the eye) with a pen. Nothing too serious in comparison, but what really annoyed me was the fact that the perpetrator in this case is a boy who has been expelled for other schools 3 - 4 times already! What the hell is he doing in this school? And what the hell is he doing in any environment where he has access to other scholars? For my moneys worth, he should not be allowed into any institution for learing. Send him to work in the mines, or send him to jail!

Spotted and confusing

I took this pic. in the mens loo at a clients premises (a major bank).

What worries me is this:-
It's in the mens loo. Could I be pregnant? And if I was, would I be working here? or selling my story to the highest bidder? Or, am I missing the point, and is it maybe aimed at the more liberated few amongst us, those who push back the putty? Are they capable of conceiving?
Just asking.

My latest offering to the local rag

December 2005 - I confirm my gardener has an ID book, and is 69 yrs old, and does not get the government old age grant. I help him with the paperwork, and by March 2006 he's receiving it. July 2006 his I.D Book and State old age grand paper go missing. For two years now I have been trying to help him get a new one issued. I even had him in the Pretoria Home Affairs head office for a whole day, but no one knew how to help him. Problem was he couldn't prove he is who he says he is. Can you get an affidavit from your old school / school teacher? was the kind of "assistance" he got!

March 2008 - we track down, and find one of his children. We get him to accompany my gardener to the Offices of the Home Affairs in Krugersdorp, where he fills in all the forms, does the photos and fingerprints, and an affidavit is drawn up by his son. Done! Come back in 6 weeks they say. 6 Weeks later, oh, there is a problem with the fingerprints, redo them. Come back in 3 weeks. Week 1 - nothing, Week 2 - nothing. Week 3 - nothing. By now I am ready to call for and stage a mass demonstration outside of the HA offices! Week 4 - he goes in, and the person behind the counter keeps referring to "Jo-Jo"! My man doesn't understand, so the international signal of rubbing the thumb against the forefinger is shown! A bribe! Thats what is required to get this thing moving on!!!
Fortunately there were others who also started to get annoyed by this delay in process, and request for Jo-Jo. A "senior" person comes out, does some screaming and shouting, looks around and finds a couple of boxes full of applications stashed away in a corner! These have never been sent off to Pretoria!!!!
it is disgusting to think that these "employed" "civil servants" would do this to their own people! I cannot begin to imagine how deep the corruption must go in the current Governing structures. It is high time that functions like these be outsourced to private companies, where proper, stricter controls can be administered. The problem with government employees is that they are inept, uneducated, untrained, and only go to the office so as to draw their monthly pay. Oh, and to collect the mandatory Jo-Jo's of course.
Hopefully the contents of the discovered boxes are now on their way to Pretoria, and these people can get their ID books sooner rather then never!

I think it's time an investigation was started by a) The Local DA, and b) The local SAPS into the business within the Home Affairs offices in Krugersdorp. I am sure there are hundreds of ways to "trap" the culprits, get them charged, and fired. Come on, this is where 90% of all our crime is committed, and it affects the poor and needy the most.

I am ashamed of you all in Home Affairs. The only reason you have a job is because the very people you steal from voted for the party that employed you. In a real world democracy you would be unemployable, and more than likely in jail.

Salagatle!
