Blog Update

I really don't like the new look of the blog "back office" stuff. That's this page where we go to when e want to write and post a new blog. It's not user friendly, I can't find half the stuff I want to, and it looks like a predecessor of the ark. Really backward stuff. Some things are best left alone, and this was one of them.

That said, there has been a whole lot going on here.
Matriarch, is settling in well in her apartment, and you can see improvement everyday in her walking and use of her arm. Added to that, she has started complaining about stupid little things again, so we know she's getting better.

Queenie is unchanged. Still drives me up the wall with her querkie things she does, but that's just who she is. I suppose we can't all be "normal"! Not that's she's abnormal, but she has "habits" which are just crazy. We think she's a bit OCD - and that explains a lot of why she does these little things she does!

GMan has decided he's going to the UK. Initially I thought it was a good thing, a) It would get him out of this bad environment he has got himself entrenched into, and away from the whole poker scene, and loan sharks, etc., b) It would get him away from the "girlfriend". Every other day he's telling us she's moving out, they have broken up, etc., but she's still there, still around.
So a) is on the button, b) is way off the mark. The girlfriends mom lives in the UK, with the new husband, and she's going to be going over to stay with them, and look for a job as well, and apply for a work permit / study permit / residency on the basis that her family are now resident in the UK. SO, instead of getting away from her, they going together. Ah well, it's his choice and his life. He plans to work as a dealer in the more legal gambling dens in London, London area. Apparently they pay quite well, and he will be staying (so he says) with another dealer friend who comes from there. Will see how that pans out. Ultimately, I think he's wasting his time, and hope he will find a real job once he's there.

LuckyL - well, where to start. Work wise he is really putting his everything into his job. So much so that he now has been told he's getting a 60% increase! it's not off a big base, but it was also not expected. Only worry I have is that come the end of the year he might not want to stop working, and go to varsity. But for now, I'm not giving him that option - and I plan to stick to that! He's also still enjoying the bikes (on and off road), but apart from me, does not have anyone to ride with him on-road.  So he's getting a bit disillusioned. It's no fun just riding to work every now and then on the bike. He wants to get out on a Sunday and burn up some miles, and it's not always fun doing it with Dad.

With GMan deciding to go overseas, they have given up their apartment, moved all of the girlfriends stuff into storage, and moved GMan's meager belongings into our place. Amongst his stuff is a big flat screen TV, a Playstation 3, and some other odds and ends. He also has a PVR Decoder. SO LuckyL and I installed the PVR into the lounge, and took my DSTV decoder up to our bedroom. We then, with much hassle, got the DSTV people to connect the second unit as a dual view so we have 2 x DSTV but only pay one subscription plus a nominal R60 a month for the second. It's worth it. We did all the rewiring through the roof ourselves, and had to redo, retry various options till we got it right. Then we split the cable going from the Lounge to the bedroom, and fed a line off it to LuckyL's bedroom. He has GMan's big flat screen set up there, and he has a "boom" channel changer. So, now when we go to bed at night, if the Princess wants to watch the end of a story, she can watch it in the room, with her own decoder, and can change channels there. LuckyL can watch DSTV from his room, via the downstairs decoder, and using the "Boom" channel changer, can change the channels from his room! Great stuff, especially for now with winter on our doorstep. Rather lie in a nice warm bed at night to watch a bit of TV, than sit downstairs in the lounge!!!

In the news recently has been quite a bit of interesting stuff. The Joe Public court case against the State and Sanral to stop the eTolling of our highways was successful! Well, to the point that they could not start tolling us yet, until further court action takes place, or the State find an alternative means to fund the "new" roads. And following this, the Sunday papers were full of information of who would be benefiting from the tolling - and it seems the ANC has more than just a small part in this. Talk about corruption! These Muther Farkrrs have taken it to a whole new level! And the way they plead ignorance to the fact is so pathetic. Just because the masses are too stupid to see through their act they think everyone will believe their drivel. Bunch of farking morons! From the president down to the sweeper in the Home affairs department. Complete farking morons.

Ok, go that off my chest.

Another interesting bit of news was some FHM model who was (again) sexually harassed by some kaffir! And the tweeted something about it, but used the word k@&&!r. And immediately the whole world took her on, FHM withdrew her position / nomination / status as MISS FHM 2011, and some of her sponsors withdrew their sponsorships as well. OK, they don't want to be associated with some one who uses the word k@&&!r. I get that. But nowhere has anyone said anything about that fucking k@&&!r that sexually harassed her! And to me that is the bigger issue here! You can sexually harass a woman, but she can't be calling you names, and especially not k@&&!r - because that's just not PC. Well fuck you very much world! It's like saying it's not rape if the attacker used a condom!!! Interestingly enough, another model (a darkie in this case) attacked her (tweeting - not physically) and made even more serious racial attackes!!! But I suppose because she's a previously disadvantaged k@&&!r, and was reacting to a "very serious racial slur" it will be accepted and forgiven!


Another interesting position in SA now is the Dept. of Education looking at banning cellphones from schools. There are many pro's and con's to this argument, which I am not going to expand on here, but suffice to say I think it goes against our constitutional rights to even consider this banning.  In today's time, communication and the ability to contact parents is a fundamental right, if not necessity, for any school pupil.

With regards the accident we were involved in in January, I have initiated talks with a friendly attorney who will assist us with the Road Accident Fund claim. This is more for Mom and her friend than myself. However, the amount of paper work required is frightening! Going to take me a few weeks to get it all together. But I know it's a long slow process, so will just keep at it.

With regards the new job, it's also slow going. Major problem is that the company cannot afford to pay me what I want at this time (want = need as a minimum). So for now I am doing some stuff for them in the background. I'm hoping to bring in a new client, who will buy a plant, that way I can earn a 10% commission (or more if I can wangle it) and use that to get rid of my bond, which means I can then work for a smaller salary! here's hoping I can pull this off!

Interesting situation - You can get lambasted for Racism when reacting to a situation and posting a comment (defamatory I know) on it - But hey, nothing gets said about the Clown / Idiot / Previously Disadvantaged individual who sexually harassed her!!! So, in context, I understand that's it's OK to sexually harass a lady, but not be racist. That's a really severe crime! Tell you what - come and harass my Princess, and I'll show you racism, coupled with extreme violence, bad language, and if you really lucky, a 24" baton where it would hurt most!!!

 On the sporting front,  it looks like Chelsea are on a roll - here's hoping they beat BM. Locally, our rugby teams are performing dismally in the super 15 / 16 - what is it now? As for the rest, who cares. I know the SA mens hockey team beat the crap out of a lot of other teams to qualify for the Olympics, but I now hear that they will have to fund the trip themselves! WTF?!?!

Right to be white

No sure if I posted this (or something similar) before, but what the hell, good reading.....

I have been wondering about why Whites are racists, and no other race is......
Proud to be White Michael Richards, better known as Kramer  from TVs Seinfeld does make a good point. This was his defense speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act.  He makes some very interesting points...

“There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans.  
 You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.  You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman'... and that's OK..
 But when I call you, Ni**er, Coon, Towel head,  Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink …. you call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you... so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
 You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships... You know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US ..  Yet if there were 'White Colleges', that would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights.  If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it.  But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.
I am proud.... But you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists??
There is nothing improper about this e-mail..  Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on.  I sadly don't think many will.  That's why we have LOST  most of OUR RIGHTS  in this country.  We won't stand up for ourselves!

 BE PROUD TO BE WHITE!  It's not a crime YET... but getting very close!

Ground Zero and Raghead temples

I saw this on a friends facebook status. I don't think it's his own work, but a copy and paste from somewhere else. However, I begs to be posted here. It's damn great!!!

I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against a mosque being built near Ground Zero.

I think it should be the goal of every American to be tolerant. The mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.

That is why I also propose, that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque thereby promoting tolerance within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs (which would be gay) "The Turban Cowboy" and the other being a topless bar "You Mecca Me Hot".

Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork and adjacent to that have an open barbeque pork rib restaurant, called something like “Iraq o’ Ribs”?

Across the street there could be a very daring lingerie store called Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.

Next door to the lingerie shop, there would be room for an Adult Toy Shop (Koranal Knowledge), its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor tore, maybe call it "Morehammered"?

Then the Muslims could be allowed to show their tolerance. Problem solved.

If you agree in promoting tolerance and you think this is a good plan, pass it on.

As you will recall, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. is the Harvard professor who got arrested by Cambridge Police a few weeks ago.

Fred Reed was a police reporter for one of the large Washington newspapers. He now writes a column which can be googled ~ "Fred on Everything."

Fred published a weekly online column in which he got to say the things his editors would never, ever have let him write in the paper. His stuff is iconoclastic and various articles have probably offended everyone, regardless of political orientation.

The following is an essay regarding the failings of a system and a culture.
Please note that he elegantly describes the mood of many Americans and he does so without prejudice.


Slavery Reparations

On the Web, I find that Henry Louis Gates Jr., the chairman of Afro-American Studies at Harvard, is demanding that whites pay reparations to blacks. It's because of slavery, see. He is joined in this endeavor by a gaggle of other professional blacks. I guess he'll send me a bill, huh?

I feel like saying, "Let me get this straight, Hank. I'm slow. Be patient.
You want free money because of slavery, right? I don't blame you." I'd like free money, too. Tell you what. I believe in justice. I'll give you a million dollars for every slave I own, and another million for every year you were a slave. Fair enough? But, tell me, how many slaves do you suppose I have? In round numbers, I mean...say to the nearest dozen. And how long were you a slave?

Oh. In other words, I owe you reparations for something that I didn't do and didn't happen to you. That makes sense. Like lug nuts on a birthday cake.
Personally, I think you owe me reparations for things you didn't do and never happened to me. I've never been coated in Dutch chocolate and thrown from the Eiffel Tower. I'll bet you've never done it to anyone. I want reparations. Kind of silly, isn't it?

But if we're going to talk about reparations, that's a street that runs in two directions. You want money from me for what some other whites did to some other blacks in another century?
How about you guys paying whites reparations for current expenses caused by blacks? Not long ago, blacks burned down half of Los Angeles, a city in my country. Cities are expensive, Hank. Build one sometime and you'll see what I mean. Whites had to pay taxes to repair Los Angeles for you. You can send me a check.

Now, yes, I know you burned LA because you didn't like the verdict in the trial of those police officers. Well, I didn't like the verdict in the Simpson trial. But I didn't burn my house and loot Korean grocers, or burn down a city.
Over the years, blacks have burned a lot of American cities: Newark, Detroit, Watts, on and on. Now add in the fantastic cost over the years of welfare in all its forms, the cost of all of those police calls people had to make, for cells and jails and security systems in department stores.

I can't live in the capital city of my own country because of crime committed by blacks. Toss in the cultural cost of lowering standards in everything for the benefit of blacks. See what I mean?
Now, I'd view things differently if you said to me, "Fred, blacks can't get anywhere in a modern country without education. We know that. We need better schools, smarter teachers, harder courses, books with smaller pictures and bigger words. Can you help us?"

I'd say, "Hallelujah! Hoo-ahh! Not just yes, but hell yes. Let's sell an aircraft carrier and get these folks some real schools and get them into the economic main-stream.' I'd say It partly because it would be the right thing to do, and partly because I'd like to add you guys to the tax base.
The current custodial state is expensive. I'd just love for blacks to study and learn to compete and stop burning places. But is it going to happen? You may not believe it, but I, and most whites, don't like seeing blacks as miserable and screwed up as they are.

I spend a fair amount of time in the projects. Those places are ugly. It's no fun watching perfectly good kids turn into semi-literate dope dealers who barely speak English. It just plain ain't right. But, Hank, what am I supposed to do about it? I can't do your children's homework. At some point, people have to do things for themselves, or they don't get done. Maybe it's time.
I'll tell you what I see out in the world, Hank... I think blacks are too accustomed to getting anything they want by just demanding it. True, it has worked for over half a century. Get a few hundred people in the street, implicitly threaten to loot and burn, holler about slavery, and sadly the Great White Cash Spigot turns on.

Thing is, whites don't much buy it any longer. Most recognize that what once was a civil-rights movement has become a shakedown game. Few people
still feel responsible for the failings and inadequacies of blacks. Political correctness keeps the lid on -- but everyone knows the score. Which
scares me, Hank.
On one hand, blacks hate whites and incline toward looting and burning. (The whites you hate are the ones who marched in the civil-rights movement.
Ever think about that?)

On the other hand, whites quietly grow wearier and wearier of it. Not good, Hank. On the third hand (allow me three hands, for rhetorical convenience), blacks keep demanding things. As I write, you demand reparations for slavery. Blacks in Oklahoma (I think it was) want money for some ancient race riot.

Other blacks reject the Declaration of Independence. Blacks in New York hint broadly at burning and looting over a trial, yet more demand the elimination of the Confederate flag, and the federal equal opportunity apparatus, which means blacks want to sue Silicon Valley for not hiring nonexistent black engineers. That's a lot of demanding for one month, Hank.

What happens if whites ever say, "No"?

Now, how about you? You've got a cushy job up there at Harvard, and you can hoot and holler about what swine and bandits whites are. I guess it's lots of fun, and you get a salary for it to boot. But don't you think you might do blacks more good if you told them to complain less and study more?

For example, if you want blacks to work in Silicon Gulch, the best approach might be to find some really smart black guys, and get them to study digital
design ~ not Black Studies (as you teach). That's how everybody else does it. It works. Then, blacks wouldn't feel left out, and racial tensions would decline. Sound like a plan?

Just out of curiosity, how many hours a week do professors of Afro-American Studies spend in the projects, encouraging poor black kids to study real-
life sho-nuf subjects?

My main points were:I don't normally get involved in this type of debate.Seems you and Anon got off to a bad start by exchanging abuse, which makes it difficult to have real debate and maybe even learn something.Not sure if being an atheist equates with being bad.I also think the main difference of opinion between you and Anon is that you seemed to be saying that the issue was colour while Anon was saying that the issue was about thieving and nothing to do with colour.I suspect these polarised standpoints won't be made better by the comments that have been posted, which is a pity.

DX - You have a point, debate would be good / better. However there is one thing that must be remembered here - this is my blog, and a space where I vent my frustrations / feelings. I don't always come across as politically correct, or racially unbiased, but that's me. In my previous life (current one with 25 years removed) my reaction would have been physical violence, a matter which landed me in hot water too many times.

Seaman - you are absolutely correct, and the fact that my son, LuckyL has a fear as it is does not help. Living in SA gives one a very different view / outlook on life - having neighbours like Zimbabwe makes us, as whites, very wary / scared. Thanx for your support!!

We live in a country with more people being killed than in a war zone. Unfortunately if you do not stay here there is no way for me to explain to you the constant fear that we live in. So till then I think we will agree that you can’t really make comments on the situation that we find ourselves in.

Fishman, there was a report a few month ago that said there were more murders in SA over a period of time than people killed in the Iraqi conflict over the same period. Makes you think....

It looks like I missed a bit of excitement there! I made a post about Kwanzaa (copied and pasted from wikipedia) on SAS and was branded a racist, and now I'm a supremacist simply by virtue of being Christian. Hmmmm, it's very hard to debate when your "opponents" resort to name calling.Would your anonymous poster like to live in a city like Detroit? If not, why not?

J - you always bring a calmness to any debate. - Remember it is written that you will be challanged for your belief! Remember that to want the best for yourself and those you love is not necessarily wrong, even by God's standard.

Anon - thank again for the comment. You talk about a lot of things, and some you are right, some you are welcome to your opinion.
I would suggest you follow the Zimbabwe situation over the past 10 years, and then you will see where the fears that the whites in our country come from. And don't say it cannot happen here, because the current government is not delivering on it's promise to the masses, and they are rising in revolt. I'm not sure what you guys get to read wherever you are, but we are daily faced with protests over housing / electricity and water access / corrupt officials. We have a civil service sector, (Home affairs / hospitals and clinics / straining under the ingress of illigle aliens from our neighbours Zimbabwe and to some extent Mozambique. In fact they estimate that up to 50% of the Zimbabwe population are now in South Africa, and of these up to 95% illegally.

Anyway, I thing that debate is good, and that as we go along we make friends / lose friends based on our comments / thoughts / perceptions. To some I am racist, to others, just a shit scared middle aged white male living in a new South Africa.

I got a comment on my crime post by some guy who thinks the problem relates to the good old days of Apartheid. I responded in kind, and he did too, and so did I again. I'm posting it here for the rest of you who might be interested in this train of thought / conversation.

I have no problem with his / her comments. What does irk me is:-
a) He / she posts anonymously - so no balls to show themselves for what they are - maybe if they had a blog we could read it and understand them.
b) He / she has no knowledge of real life here in South Africa - and the reasons why some people are anti -black as opposed to racist.
c) He refers to me a supremist, and well, I don't believe I am. What I do know is that I have morals and abide by the law of the land, no matter who or what is the government of the day.
d) I also know, for a fact, that no matter where they go in the world, and what their eventual final standing in the community might be, most (not all), most of Africans are at the forefront of crime and criminal activity. If you see burning cars in France, it's black kids doing it. I don't question their reason, only their actions). If there is a gang land murder in the US, 9 out of 10 times it's a black kid. So it's cause of his circumstances you say. Crap, I can show you a country full of poor people living in abject poverty that don't revert to lawlessness!
If there is a case of civil servants involved in crime, from a messanger up to a Vice President, which makes the news daily, it's going to be in an African country. And if you want to see a country which went from Bread basket of the continent to the begging bowl of the world, look no further, it's African, and just to the north of the good old RSA!
Just my thoughts.
