This coming weekend

Me and the Princess are going to a wedding. Nothing unusual, other than we not getting to too many these days. most people we know already married, or, not planning to make the same mistake again (LOL).

However, this guys the exception. Married first time round, had 3 kids, one and then twins. Then fucked it up and got divorced.
Then we get an invite to his second wedding. make the plans, book the hotel, and flights, and it got canceled. Just as well I suppose, as prospect number two was a bit of a nutter.
Now we got invite number 3. He's been with this girl for some time. I say girl cause she's a lot younger than he is, but that's another story. No problem there, other than these two decide to get married in some arty farty fucking wedding venue in the Midlands! (look it up - use the Google thingy up top). So why is that an issue I hear you ask? Well, for one, it's in the Midlands. No one lives there that's going to the wedding! So everyone has to travel far to get there, and due to the distance, have to stay over somewhere. It also means going down on Friday, and staying 2 nights. Big deal you say?

Which raises another issue. OK, they have been co-habitating for some time. What does this mean? Well, for one, they have just about everything you would want / need in the home. So, for gifts, they did not put "Donations to the local SPCA / Old age home / Orphanage / AIDS center....", No, they said, cash donations to go towards our honeymoon!

OK, so this is still not out of the ordinary I suppose, except that, what do you give for a wedding present in cash? ZAR 500? I don't know, but I told the Princess to go buy something. A fancy vase or something like that.

Having written this up now, and moaned and bitched about everything, I have one more thing to say:-

I wouldn't miss it for the world!
Good luck you two, may you be blessed with a long and very happy marriage. Don't lose sight of why you got hitched in the first place. Oh, and enjoy the vase!

You are such a nice guy. I would surely find some excuse (i'd have to clip my toenails or something) to decline that invitation!

Just pop R500 in an envelope. Sorted.
