An interesting thing happened here in sunny SA in the past week or two. We had 2 public holidays falling on the same day, Good Friday for those of us who follow the Christian calender. And some other day - Human Right Day (Now there's an oxymoron for you - human rights day in South Africa). Anyway, the unions came to the fore, and demanded that either their workers were paid double for the day (no working) or quadruple (working)!
Their theory is that if the days did not coincide, they would have had two days off. No reasoning with these guys, the government capitulated and then announced that Friday the 2nd Of may would be an extra public holiday to make up for this "lost" day?!?!
What the fuck?
So, Sunday the 27th April is a publicu holiday - Freedom Day (another oxymoron), but because it's on a Sunday, it "rolls over" to the Monday. Tues. 29th is work, Wed. 30th is work, Thursday 1st of May is a public holiday! - Workers Day (as initiated by the commies so many years ago), and now the Friday.
So, we will lose another week of production, to add to all the lost days due to power failures....
Already some companies are saying they will be closed for the T&W, as it's not worth starting up the production for 48 hr shift - it takes longer to start and stop and clean the machines than that, (think plastic extrusion, etc). Many people have said they will just take the 2 days as leave, and have a 10 day break (my brother is one of them, which means I get to work like a slave at home for those 10 days).
So all in all, apart from calling each other Kaffirs, as has become so very popular, and costing the country millions in lost production due to the well staged power problems, and now all these extended public holidays, it's not a bad place to be! You Got to love it Man!!
Anyone know how I can get hold of these 3? I have a job offer for them.
President of the ANC, and possibly future president of the RSA. (He's even got 2 shower heads!!!)
Minister of Safety (Man, with that green outfit he's sure to be a winner - if not we could use him to scare off the Indian minors! No, not little ragheads with names like More Ham Head, or I.B Dull - I mean the feathered type... birds!?!?!)
And finally, the lady could be Minister of Health, even if she fucks up, at least this one is worth looking at! (Up here, my eyes are up here!)

Hmmm... interesting characters but their complexion might be too light for SA. Why am I thinking of Pamela Anderson, oh no, cant be her coz of her distinct physical characteristic... yep, she has 5 fingers not 4. Loved your Sisters of Darkness joke. I did not get the part of the Indian minors in your last blog. Perhaps this was written after your liquid lunch with DM, LOL! Anyway, hope your son is enjoying his Malaysian trip. I was told the girls are very pretty there with all 5 fingers... Enjoy all these holidays, man the SA'n calendar must be looking peculiar these days. September 1 is a holiday here which is called "Labor Day" and the next day marks the beginning of the school year. Pretty booring here...its just work, work, work. At least our dollar is worth more than the American's. Any day now we are expecting an invasion by a certain black leader with the middle name of Hussein. The world's gone mad!
