I mentioned this in one of my previous posts, but.....
A client was due to sign a significant deal with us at end March. In mid-Feb, my executive, and two other senior managers from my employer met with the executives of the client over lunch. It was to be a friendly / chit chat / thanks for the business type of meeting. The client mentioned how impressed he was with our latest proposal, which would save his company around ZAR 200k per month on the current contract.
The imbecile that is my executive mentioned to the client how much more impressive it would be if he could see how much we could save the client if he outsourced to us!!! FUCK!!!
Rule 1) - Never put a second, conflicting option on the table, if the client is satisfied with the one he has!!!
Rule 2) - Never propose to a client ANYTHING, till you have discussed it with the account manager, etc. who KNOWS the client!!!
So the client pushed our proposal aside and said it's on hold till the executive presents him with the secondary "value proposition"!
Our "esteemed" SO team rejected the opportunity under one of two guises:-
a) It's too small for them, or
b) they have a resource problem, so are unable to pursue (I know they are busy with some big deals)
In a follow up meeting, recently, the client again asked for the value proposition which was promised to him, and for which the proposed deadline had passed. Instead of being humble, and telling the client that we are unable to respond at this time / are under resourced at this time / are not really interested / or that he's a cunt and fucked up, NO WAY, he asks for another 2 months grace to present this value proposition!!!
So my deal is on the back burner again - for another 2 -3 months.
What we will present to the client after this time I have no fucking clue.
What it means to me is a loss of about ZAR 100k in commission for this Quarter!!!! I am on over achievement, which means I'm on a 3-1 accelerator, or, would have been if is wasn't for the illiterate fuck wit who just blew it for us!
So, I've emailed my manager, stating the obvious, as well as saying that I want to meet to discuss this issue, and am expecting compensation.
Now I know I won't get anything, but I sure as hell will make him understand exactly why it is we NEVER want to take any of them fuck wits to meet with any of our clients.
And as far as I am concerned, he never will.
DOOS!!!

That is why they always or most of the times fail to secure contracts. If the customer is not a big corporate then they are not interested! Has been like that when I was their. As with SO, they are -with recent experience- Going to deal with more escalations than do the physical work due to the fact that they think they can source cheap skills and do on the job training for all the outsourced customers who got these brilliant deals. That is how they want to save thee poor bastard another R100K. They are going to get juniors to maintain the fucking systems!!
The similar thing happened when a French tyre manufacturer and importer wanted to outsource globally to The Corporation. SO decided the local chapter was too small so didn't go for it. Then the exec you speak of says "that's ok, GTS will have it", whereby it was passed onto your illustrious papvreter sales manager who is trying to get a team together to put in the bid...hello fuckwits, it's a SO deal...leave it to the idiots who think they know best...
yes, and Yes, u r both correct...
