The bar build / design

reaching the final stage. This weekend was spent refining the design for the bar counter, with much rubbing out, redrawing taking place. I think I've got it taped now, so this coming weekend I'll go and get the materials, and see if I can continue withe the work which was started with my brothers last visit to our home.

It's a bit of a wishing list type counter, what with glass front for added display space, and a horseshoe type shape so as to accommodate an insert for those party poker nights. But I'm confident, that without too much waste and retrial I will pull this off. Only challenge I have is ensuring that all the materials are cut right to size first time, no room for error when you are working with wood.

I will be taking before / during / after photo's so you all can see the flow, and final result. If I cock it up, I'll ave to raid the kids piggy banks for extra funds so I can try again.

The golden rule! Measure at least ten times and cut once! And make sure on which side of the line the blade must run before attempting the cut!

Hey, BTF - nice to see u again.... yea, I'm used to metal work, and then any mistake is easily repaired. This wood work is a different animal altogether though, but measure and remeasure is the right advise, thanx

Hey seaman, you will do anything for a bonus stay at your inland timeshare, wont you?

Thanx for the offer, but lets see if I can pull this off alone. If not, I'll take you up on it.
