I'm probably not alone in this, but I really am getting more and more concerned by the day. The status of the world we live in, the moral decay, the values....
Everywhere I look, read, see, it's a worrying and depressing situation. No this is not one of my depressed bloggs, it's something I have given much thought to, and now feel the need to express, and share, and maybe get some meaningful (or not) response to.
Crime, internationally, is rampant. Types of crimes committed are becoming more violent all the time. Rape and murder, becoming almost common place in many countries.
There is no respect, nor pride in anything (I generalise here, but the averages are probably higher for the baddies than the goodies!)
Companies don't want employees, they want delivery. The shareholder is number one, and if we must destroy the careers or private lives of the employee to ensure that we deliver to the shareholder what some unrelated analyst has predicted, so be it.
Over population of the earth - populations in more than 1 country now measured in billions.
Over fishing of marine resources.
Every day more animals / plants / species are either getting onto the endangered list, or disappearing from the face of the earth forever.
Oil, fuel, coal.... Forests.... Ozone.....??
What the hell are we doing? Is it really more important to ensure that companies grow their revenue by 10/15/20% YOY, than it is to ensure that the family pod is secure / healthy / whole?
Mergers / conglomerates, wanting more of a smaller pie... More, more, more.... Pushing out the traditional little guy who knew your name......
I believe that we are fast approaching WW III. Yup, there are too many fractions in the world system. Too much stress, jealousy, mistrust, greed. I really believe that we are "overdue".
People jumping out of building because the stock market drops 10/15% in one day! So what? It's only money. You can get it all back.
Terrorists groups / Freedom fighters (depends on which side you are) committing acts of violence once thought only possible on the big screen. Suicide bombers, car bombs, airplane suicide missions.
Whole town buring up due to explosions caused by petrol thieves in the DRC.
Bird flu, HIV/AIDS.... We manage to eradicate polio and measles from the world, and then this..
Mad cow disease (caused by feeding them with ground up remains of slaughtered cattle!!)! We actual feed them their own! Why don't we eat our own dead? And save a cow?
Million dollars spent annually on research into useless stuff! Like why do the swallows fly north / south, not east / west? Who the fuck cares?
What is the relationship between blue flys and corpses? Who the hell cares!
And then the idols... pop stars, movie stars, football stars.
Now there's a subject. How can any one man be worth 70 thousand British pounds a week? For kicking a ball around? Lets get real, that is just disgusting. And then we tell our nurses and school teachers and fire men that their jobs are a personal service to mankind, a mission from the heart, and therefore they shouldn't look at how much they earn in money terms, but rather the mark they make in their environments!
But we will gladly pay a little German adrenalin addict 1 million dollars a week to race a car around a track every second weekend! Damn, we could solve the housing problem of every South African on his annual earnings alone.
When one man (Gates) has enough money to settle the outstanding debt of the whole of the African Continent, there is something wrong.
The whole picture just does not look right.
Am I pissed off. NOW I AM!!!!
Salagatle!

Bro...
You put the cause of all this upheaval/discontent in your posting, maybe without realising it..."Over population of the earth".
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work it out. The more people there are, the:
- More crime there will be;
- More demand on natural resources will be;
- More opportunity to shaft some poor fucker there will be;
- More "rich" people there will be;
- More accidents on our roads there will be as there is an increased number of vehicles every year;
- Lower the morals of the population (generalising) there will be;
- More demand for delivery (on everything) there will be;
- More you will be a number to the email address you work for (people are becoming a commodity now too);
- More the media will pick up on the sensational stories and blurt them out across ever-expanding and accessible networks;
- More difficult it will be to make a living for you and your family (never mind your grandchildren one day);
- Easier it will be for corporations to get rid of people and restock their numbers with new blood looking to shaft the previous sucker;
- Easier it will be for suicide bombers to find a target, and for the networks to report it;
- Faster the natural resources will be depleted (yet we insist on developing the combustion engine further?);
- More the "have not's" will want what the "have's" have got, even though the latter worked hard for it;
- Easier it will be for germs and viruses to mutate, faster than "cures" can be found for them;
- etc.
- etc.
- etc.
It's an extensive list, but it essentially comes down to the global population explosion (partially, I believe, in that we have not had a major war for 61 years, and partially due to lack of education and a few other reasons like "I-couldn't-give-a-shit-as-I-won't-be-here-anyway") and the higher the numbers become, the more exponential the population growth becomes. Eventually, something's gonna blow and regardless of what happens, the human race (as we know it now) will never be the same again after it.
The numbers have got to drop, otherwise we're ALL fucked...and the doomsday clock is ticking...
