A few weeks ago I was driving in Midrand, and saw a delivery vehicle drive right through an intersection with broken traffic lights. No slowing down, never mind stopping. I got the details, and sent out this email:-

Subject - Bad driving
On day, last week, 20 March at approx. 8.45 am, the driver of the truck featured in the attached picture drove straight through a flashing red traffic light. There was obviously a problem with the lights in the intersection, but he didn't even slow down at all.
Drove straight through, put on his indicator to turn left, and cut in front of my car. I had stopped at the faulty lights, and was pulling away when he did this.
I took the photo, and the relevant details I could, before he turned off.
Just thought you should know....Vehicle number 49
Reg:- TYK956GP
it was on the Old Pretoria Rd, travelling in the direction towards Johannesburg.

Now, I know that 3 people opened / received my email, as I got a notification back from their site.
However, to date no one there has bothered to contact me / thank me / tell me to mind my own business. So, obviously they don't care / take this seriously.
So today I sent a follow up email:-

I know my email, attached, sent to you previously, was opened and read.
However, I have had no feedback, or response from you.
Interesting - must be a company thing there - if management don't care - why would the drivers....
Oh, well, better hope they never drive into me or any of my children - then you definitely will learn to care.
You can find this "article" posted on my blog in the near future.

08 April 2009 Update on the above:-
The company named here did today call me, and explained their slow response. They doid state that the relevant driver has been punished / warned / ??.
For what it's worth, that bastard rides into one of my family, and he's dead, never mind punished.
