Friday was a mellow affair, with not too much happening in the way of life, other than the usual office, home, TV, bed... oh, and some meals in between. Wait, I lie, we had dinner with some friends at Don Vito's. We haven't seen them for some time (months actually) as the guy has been working contract up north in some of the lesser favourite African countries, (earning serious USD's).
Saturday was a seriously busy affair. It was GMan's confirmation in the morning, and my Mom, Queenie, my sister in law and her pregnant daughter (she's married, ok!) as well as some special frinds from the deep south (Vaal) were there to celebrate the event with him.
The service (which someone said could take 2.5 - 3 hours) was done and dusted in 1.3 hours (ohew) and everyone came home to have a lunch with us. The Princess had for a few days been precooking meats and had made salads and stuff, I collected some fresh bread rolls on the way home, and a very light, refreshing lunch was had by all. After lunch i installed, and had connected a full DSTV system, (ZAR495/month - donations welcome) and so we were able to watch the Currie Cup final (That's a South African Rugby tournament), which the Sharks from Kwa-Zulu_Natal won, playing against the Blue Bulls (From Pretoria / Northern Province). A good game, well deserved win (they last won the cup 12 years ago!)
Sunday was a more relaxed affair, GMan went to ealy church service, and whilst there showed his bike to a prospective buyer. After "lunch" (rolls and leftovers, the Princess and I went off to visit some friends who are back in the country after some few months on their yacht which is moored somewhere in the islands off the north coast of South America! Spent a most pleasant afternoon there with them, relaxing, talking shit and stuff. He's off to New Zealand for 4 weeks next week to go fishing!!! 4FS!!
That evening, LuckyL got back from his water polo tour down at the coast, and GMan picked him up and they joined us at the friends place.
Dinner was great, I got beat 1 - 5 in pool, and we eventually got back home at abut 10pm. Great day, great company. Must do that more often.
Got an sms on Saturday from DMDad to say he and She had arrived at their new home in the fiaretst Cape safely - good. It's a long drive, with plenty foolish drivers on the road. Arriving there safely is a major achiavement!!!!
Still looking for spares for the Yamaha XJR1200..... oh, and the people who we spent Sunday with said they are looking for a bike. Happy for me to rebuild them one as per LuckyL's Aprilia, and my Yamaha. So if I find a not so stuffed up on/off road for him, I'll buy it, and fix it. Great fun to do, and with someone else's check book!
Enough for now. Chat later.
Salagatle!
