Spoke to DMDad yesterday, and his She. They recently emigrated to the fairest Cape, and seem to be well settled in and relaxed. Very relaxed in fact. They had just arrived at the beach where they were taking their dogs for a walk / run. They have done this regular since moving down, watching many bootiful sunsets there! This at 5.20 pm, whilst I was still fighting the traffic to get home! Anyway, seems like they did the right thing, I think so anyway, and have located themselves in an area which almost qualifies as a village! Lovely place, not as small as the word village might mean, but definately that kind of slow life, laxy daisy mentality. Definately the kind of place that promotes longevity!
Spoke to anothe rfriend down in the same area just after, who said that ater they emigrated down into a nearby area, they went down to the beach as often as possible in the evenings to watch the sunset, run the dogs. For at least the first 3 or 4 years. Thereafter the "holiday" feeling tends to fade a bit, and day to day chores eat into your time anyway. he did also add that the beaches which are close to where DMDad and She are staying had soem trouble a while ago with some rouges who were robbing / mugging beach visitors. It seems thjis has bee sorted out, but with the horse like doge DMDad and She have along i somhow don't think that will be a problem anyway!
Then I called Fishman. His wife (I need a name for her, any suggestions) was due to "pop" on the 30th, he said something about inducing labour. Anyway, they didn't and put it off to today! So, I'm waiting for his call. He knows it's a little boy, and has a little girl already, so it's great news!!! And, he's offered drinks to his friends back at his place as soon as the deed is done! Even though I'm not a drinker, I have offered to submit myself to the evil spirits in place of DMDad who can't be there..... Oh, the sacrifices we make for our friends!
My new manager, "The iron lady" as I have named her, is conming along really nicely thank you! She seems to have grasped my style, and is accomodating, to the point where I am not suffering the levels of stress I had before. Like I said, (here or elsewhare) if my manager does his/her job, I don't need to get stressed, and so wont have to get aggressive to get things done. However, the business is so broken, that even she is finding it difficult to get things movinf / done. But she's kicking ass, and so making waves in the right direction. I actually believe this can / will work!

Wanda would be a good name for Fishman's wife from the movie A fish named Wanda. Something caught my eye in your blog: "Even though I'm not a drinker..." this from the man that built the $50,000 bar with 20,000 mini bottles? I suppose you were being sarcastic. On DMD, I am very happy for him that he is enjoying walks on the beach and watching sunsets.... really I am very happy for him not jealous at all yup while I am watching the first snowflakes fall...
Wanda is good, I like it....
And yes, I'm not a drinker. I stopped drinking completely many, many years ago (about 20 - 24), and even drank only coke at my wedding! However, I have allowed myself an occasional beer (esp. on very hot days when I'm in the garden / garage) or a glass of wine (at a meal, I am after all Italian), an occasional whiskey, or Coke and rum, but limited to one, and only very rarely! Not kidding.....
As for DMDad, yup, I envy him too...

That's pretty amazing! I rarely drink because its more difficult for females to digest alcohol. But when I moved to Texas I found it very difficult not to drink in a hot climate. 20 plus years ago it was legal to drink and drive in Texas so there was no shortage of drinks wherever we went. But as soon as I moved back to frigid Quebec I was back on tea. LOL
Hi Folks....I haven't left the planet, or am intentionally ignoring you all. I'll put up a posting on my blog to let you know what's going on down here in the Cape.
Suffice to say, things are a little more chilled than they were in Shit Towne and, yes, we have been walking the dogs/horse around the beach a few times watching great sunsets.
It's gonna be a(nother) novel, the next posting, so gimme a few hours to get my thoughts together and write them down for you...if you're interested.
Right now, schwah, like, I think I'll stare at the mountain for a while, man...like, hey, wow, man...
