Further to my previous post, I received the following comment, and I have decided it's such a strong motivation that it deserves posting:-

That is very sad. I almost died in a car accident 23 years ago on my 20th birthday. My back and pelvis were broken (along with other broken bones and lacerations) and my internal organs were shutting down. God in his grace kept me alive and after a month or so I went into a nursing home (in the States generally for old people). After a month or so there, I signed myself out against doctor's orders and taught myself to walk again.
When it first happened, they said I'd probably die the first night. After that they said I'd probably never walk. Then they said I'd most likely never have children. Well look at me: I lived; I'm now 43, I can not only walk, but I can run, climb trees, and am quite active, and I've given birth to six healthy, beautiful children.
As my dad always says, Where there's life, there's hope. I hope this beautiful girl has a full recovery as well.
Salagatle!

I hope it is an encouragement to them. I was unconscious so much the first couple weeks. I have memories of briefly waking and seeing my various relatives standing over me, crying.
