When my brother and his family were visiting a few weeks ago, they told us about a lady friend of theirs who had had an operation for what should have been a minor problem. Not to trivialize the operation, but it's one of those where people usually have it, and get on with life. Anyway, as it turned out, she died. Complications of sorts. (Sorry guys, I don't recall all the details).
Anyway, she left behind a husband, my brothers very good friend, and two kids, 12 and 5 (if I remember correctly).
Saturday morning he phoned, to say that his friend had been killed in an accident!
Boet, I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how close you were, even more since he was drawing on you for support since his loss. Know that there is a reason for these things. be there for his kids, even be their "other" dad if you can.
Know that you are in our thoughts.

You mean to say that the kids lost both their parents? I hope they have other family. Its too sad...

Damn, that's terrible...Even if there is family, it's no substitute for mom and dad. Bro, please pass on my best wishes to your brother...
What a tragedy...so sorry for the people who are left behind to deal with their loss.
