The past two weeks

Have been seriously hectic. What with multiple public holidays, 2 work days in between, and a client who makes appointments for those two days, then cancels one 30 minutes before it starts, and others don't turn up for the second....

And we had my brother and his family visiting for ten days. He who cannot sit still, wants to do something all the time - wow, I nearly went to work just to have a break! It was, as usual, great to have them here again. My niece is looking great, chirpy, and happy. My sister in law is jabbering away as usual(where does she get the strength from) and all the hustle and bustle that goes with having two families in one home for 10 days!

Went fishing last week Friday with brother and his father in law. Must say, apart from the odd line wetting that occurs when we go to Koffiefontein, I haven't been fishing for years. We had a great time. Wind was directly in our faces for the whole day, but it wasn't too cold. Caught a few, 4 - 5, little ones. But it was just nice being away, at the waters edge, fire burning, bottle of Old Brown Sherry between us. Will post pics and details in next blog.

Sunday was lunch with Mom. She decided to take us out to a relatively new Italian restaurant, owned and run by the grand son of a friend of hers (ours). Well, although the quality was great, the portions were miserably small, and the prices outrageous of the portions. For what we spent on the meal for the 7 of us, I could feed my family (and my brothers) for the full 10 days, eating very well! Won't be going back there - although I suspect Mom will.

On Saturday, for some reason, we looked in my brothers cars boot (LIU), and I noticed there was no jack or wheel spanner. Not a good idea to travel 700 km without these. So Monday before he left to go home, he popped in to a motor spares dealer and bought them. Just as well. 300km from our house he got a flat wheel, and needed those tools. Just a reminder that you should never leave home without these things.

More later - meeting about to start.

Fising without me. Is it payback time for all the other trips that you did not get an invite for?
