Pretoria

Had to spend a day in Pretoria last week. Strangely enough, I felt safe walking in the streets there, unlike my experience in Johannesburg. In fact, at some point I looked around and can swear I was the only white person within 100 meters, and I still felt - safe.

The city looks cleaner, but there are still street vendors / hawkers, which have mostly been done away with in JHB.


Nice statue - my mom has a pic of this with us as kids posing in front of it - must be all of 40 years old (the pic that is)















And the streets are very busy, people moving all over - unlike JHB where the streets are, well, quieter. More cars in JHB, but not so many people just walking / shopping / chatting....
