Triathlon

A few weeks ago I posted that LuckyL had done the swim leg of a triathlon with a team. Well, yesterday he did another one. This time it was at the Vaal River (LIU) and so is a lot harder, as you swim with the current (downstream) for a 3rd of the race, and against the current (up stream) for half of the race (The rest is across current you dumb ass - I knew you would ask!)

Anyway, once again he did well, and his team finished 7th overall in the team even.
His time:- 13min 20 sec. A very good time considering he's not in training.
The cycling staging area - when the swimmers come out of the water they run to here and "tag" their team mate who then starts the cycling leg.
This is a lot of man power - I'm sure they were intent on reversing the flow of the river!

The race was held on the premises of the Vaal Triangle University grounds. It is magnificent there, and I am sure that most of the "learners" who attend this institution do not appreciate what they have access to. This was a stretch of forest between the river and the car park....
