In case you were wondering

There are many out there who are very sceptical about the state of the nation when it comes to things African, and run by Africans.
What I mean is:-
Is the theory of a banana republic valid?
Is it true that the African mentality is more apt to destruction than to construction?
Can it really be said that things under African rule are bad?

I suppose in some cases the above is not true. However, I am also sure that if you could visit all of the countries who were "colonialised" in the past, and had massive economically viable infrastructures put in place by those "colonialists" (albeit with the help of the "cheap" labour force), you would find that much of it has been destroyed.
Zimbabwe must be the current leader in this instance. From bread basket of Africa to begging bowl of the world in what, 20 Years?

Mozambique too has had it's share of said destruction. In fact, at the time the Portuguese fled from the "freedom fighters" / "terrorists", the country was magnificent. Yes, large area had become impassable due to landmines that had been planted (by the terrorists), and some of the buildings in the major towns and cities had been damaged (by bombs by terrorists), but overall the country had a viable, strong economy.

Herewith some examples of the type of tourist resort that was available in Mozambique in about 1975:-

This was a holiday resort / hotel.
This was it's swimming pool.

This is what it looks like today:-
So, although many will think that the fears of the white man in South Africa is unfounded, and many say it will never happen here, I think the white man has a good grasp on history, and things African, and the reality is that should the wrong person come into power under the ACN banner, or any other banner for that matter, that South Africa may indeed become another one of the now infamous African Banana Republics!
