I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm finding Facebook a bit tiresome. I mean, I've only got what, 7 or 8 friends registered, and already i can't keep up with all the crap that comes through. So, do I really care of ABC has now invited Joe Soap as a friend, or if SHE CAN has sent Blog Joe a wall whatever? I really don't care. What I find useful is the scrabble game, although it's slow going, the jigsaw puzzles are fun, and now I've started a cause, which I hope a few thousand people will subscribe to so I can get some momentum for Witness to get a new ID book issued. Apart from that, blah, it's a load of crap! Or am I missing the point? I suppose if I didn't have this blog, I might find the other application more useful, but I find that this method of expression is more in line with what I need / want.
Anyhow, of late it's been quite hectic at work. My OO has been on vacation (refer one of my previous posts on this) and I'm not having much fun filling in for him.
I don't remember if I mentioned that we attended my nephew's wedding on Saturday, or that I had a terrible toothache during the function. But I've decided tomorrow morning (Wednesday) I'm off to the dentist to get one tooth pulled, and two others repaired.
I bought a new fan belt for Queenie's washing machine today. it doesn't fit so I have to take it back in the morning. Don't know where I'm going to get the right one though.
The kids are busy with year end exams, and as such, spend quite a bit of time at home. They only go in to school on the days they write an exam, and only stay there for the duration of the exam, and then come home. So they are more home than at school. By the last week of Nov. they will have finished writing, and will be on vacation for the next 6 weeks or so.
However, the Princess and I don't have much / any vacation time left, and finances are short, so I'm not sure if we will be going anywhere for the Dec. break.
The local "Lotto" has resytarted after being off for about 6 months (was it that long?), and I've had some luck, winning ZAR268 one week for a layout of ZAR50, and winning ZAR34 for a layout of ZAR50.
I notice that the jackpot has now rolled over for a few draws (4?) and so should be getting big. I wouldn't mind getting a piece of that!
Some good news. I check online a few weeks ago, and saw that my cc (Closed corporation)(LIU) was still registered. I had thought I had made it dormant. So I sent off an email requeting details of the current member /s, and heard nothing. I resent the email - nothing. So today I phoned them, and after having to verbally abuse at least 4 Nero's for their kak attitude, and telling the switchboard operator that in fact she's not getting paid just for turning up each day, I got through to a guy who could actually speak properly, and as it turned out, could use his computer, and could give me the information I needed.
The good news - it's still registered to me! This is important, because I can now use it for the casket business. I need to get a bank account and stuff in place. it also means that by looking at the cc registration number, it "seems" as if the business has been operating since 1991!! The upside is that people prefer companies which have some "history" and don't look like they have just come into being recently. yea, I know it's a crock, but do I care?
All I need to do is get an new Accounting Officer, and then I'm going to change the registration to read "XXX cc" "Trading as DIY Caskets".
And finally, I received my latest provident fund statement today, and for a change it's looking good. Have had some good growth of late, mainly due to the excellent growth in the local market!
Now, seeing as it's only 9.58 pm, but the rest of the family have gone to bed, I think I'll do the same. Nothing wrong with crawling in a bit earlier every now and then.

Good luck at the dentist tomorrow! My daughters used to love Facebook because their sense of worth used to be tied to the amount of friends they had made. They were in competition with each other. You also have to check your wall: so and so has written on your wall... too much work for me. I know when my kids are home it costs me a fortune in groceries. They have their friends over and just eat, watch videos and eat or go on the computer and eat $$$$ ! I wish I had my old SA fridge that had a lock on it ! :)
