Well, it's been about 2 months, and she's really doing well. So much so, that she wanted to go back home, so yesterday she flew in, my "sister" picked her up, and dropped her off at her house.
Now, there is no way I could even begin to relate the amount of effort and personal sacrifice made by my brother and his family in this regard. To take someone who is ill, into your home and nurse them for 2 months is not easy, even if it is your Mom. It's difficult, financially draining, and mentally and spiritually as well.
They have done a fantastic job. Each time I spoke with Mom I could hear she was improving, so much so that I was surprised she didn't demand to go home sooner. However, she also knew it was much colder here where she lives, and that's not good either. As it is, she has come back just as we enter another cold spell, and when I called her this morning she did say her hip and knee were hurting again. I think this is a combination of the cold, and sitting still in the plane, and car yesterday. But she still sounds positive!
On Sunday, knowing she was coming home, LuckyL and I had gone over to her place, and made sure everything was in order. The house was still clean and neat, as she had left it. We sorted her mail (I took the bills with me, and will settle them), started her car and let it run for a while, made sure it's fuel tank was full, and bought her some flowers.
She's quite chuffed with them!
Princess also went and did some basic shopping for her, and we left all that in her fridge. So all round she's feeling very warm and fuzzy and loved!

Nice to hear that the old lady is better again! They can give one a fright if they get sick at their age.
Yup, they can really scare us, and whats worse is that they wont tell you when they are ill!
Thanx for the note / comment
