Nov 15th - Princess's birthday. Yup, she also has them, even though she hasn't aged a day since she turned 18... but that's a different story.....
Didn't have any big do this time though, we had a big bash for her last year. I got her more of the same (her favorite perfume - seems to last from birthday to mothers day - to birthday), than the kids got her a cellphone sock? and a small canister of pepper spray to keep in the car. Ok, so it's not like something seriously personal, but at least very useful, if needed!
Still have not had much luck with getting eye drops inot Kaisers eyes... he's really stubborn. I may have to resort to the muzzle and brute force one of these days. Problem with that is he gets pissed off, and then it's harder still next time round.
As for the rest of the weekend, Sunday morning making another reindeer for the Xmas lights display, and then putting up all the lights. I've been thinking about redoing the power setup for the display, so that it all feeds off one plug, and is all waterproofed. Will have more on this once I'm done with it. And once it's done and in place I'll get some pics and post them here.
GMan is out tonight (Saturday) again. He's with a friend (some friends?) at a Hill Song concert in Pretoria. They staying over at a mates flat tonight, and will be coming home in the morning. Better than driving back late at night. LuckyL is here somewhere upstairs, probably playing computer games with his buddy.
The kids are almost done with their exams, and are then on vacation for another 6 or so weeks...
Just received an sms from a bud -
Micheal Jackson is apparently seriously pissed off right now. Just as soon as he gets himself all whitened up, and European looking (does he?), the USA gets themselves a black president!
Still have not had any feedback from RCI (LIU) about our requested vacation at the end of the year.
Monday it's me on the blower, and some poor fuck on the other end it going to get it! In Feb this year the Princess contacted them and asked to be put on the list for vacation accommodation for December during the school holidays. Anywhere on the North Coast, South Coast, or Beacon Isle - Plettenberg Bay (LIU). They have not even once called back to say there has been no space banked or any form of communication at all. For about ZAR700 a year membership - that's just not good enough!

Cause it's Friday!
So this old, farming couple decide it's time to retire. And in the same week they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The kids decide as a double present they sending them to New Yory for their gift!
They get there and catch a cab into the city. The old lady, having spent her whole life out on the farm, speaks no English!
Cabby: "So, where are you folks from?"
Farmer: "South Africa."
Old lady (in Afrikaans): "What did he say?"
Farmer: "He asked where we were from.'
Cabby: "I've been to South Africa. Had the worst sex of my life there."
Old lady (in Afrikaans): "What did he say?"
Farmer: "He says he knows you.......!"

Update on Kaiser - 2
So, this morning I was worried about a) getting the dog into the car (kombi), and b) the vet's diagnosis. a) was a doddle, I opened the back of the kombi, walked him up to it, and said, "In boy". As soon as he smelt his favorite blanket he leapt in and lay down!! Bargain.
Got to the vets, and he dismounted no problem. Well, not really, he was a bit nervous, cause he cant see the ground, so can't estimate the height, and landed a bit wobbly. (Reminder to self - lift him out of the car next time).
Ok, so he has got Pannus. Not good news. What was good news is that if we can get him to let us put in the eye drops, every morning and evening, the condition is reversible! He will get his sight back. We just have to keep doing it for the rest of his life. And at ZAR135 per month (more or less) it's no problem!!!!!
So I spent some time chatting to him about how to get this dog to take his medicine, and in fact, it's a bit of a challenge, but not impossible. I just have to make it a habit for him. So, LuckyL and I, and GMan to an extent will spend the next week making him comfortable with us playing with his face, rubbing our hands on it, in his ears, on his nose, mouth, and around his eyes. Each time he plays along, reward him with a biscuit! Eventually we should be able to get close enough to get the drops in his eyes, and then another reward. Theoretically we should get to a point where every morning, and evening, he will be waiting at the door for his daily dose of drops, and reward!!! Hey, it's working for a lot of other dogs like him. The vet says he sees on average 7 dogs a week like this!!!!!!!
Things are looking up!!!

Update on Kaiser
After me and both the boys were savaged by Kaiser, trying to get eye drops into his eyes, I went out and bought a muzzle. Didn't work. It was too small for his face / head, and it hurt him when he turned his face away, scratching his nose, drawing blood.
So we decided to let him be for now. The one eye was open (unseeing) the other held closed, so at least the drops were easing the sensitivity in his eye to the sunlight.
Sunday morning I was at the vet asking for meds that would calm him enough for us to be able to administer the eye drops.
He gave me 4 Valiums. Supposed to give him all 4 in one go. I gave him one, an hour later one more, and 30 minutes later the other 2. Eventually he was chilled out. But still no access to his eyes. At least he wasn't biting. I managed to to temp him with some bread, pulling my habd upwards, so he followed the smell, and then LuckyL managed to get some drops into the other eye!!!!!
This morning I was back at the vet. No go. No more Valiums. Not good for him they say.. I suppose so.
I bought a soft / material muzzle for us to use for now... I really need to get those drops in his eyes, even if it does cause him some stress. He's had me and LiuckyL in tears at least 3 times this weekend (due to our sensitive natures.....).
However, he did tell me about a vet eye hospital! Found it on the net, and am hoping to get Kaiser there asap.
Maybe, just maybe he has not got Pannus, and then they can sort it out. However, the chances are he has got just that. Anyway, going to get him there and they can advise us.
In the mean time, I suppose I need to get another dog. With Kaiser and his blindness, and Snoopy who's about 15 human years, and deaf as a doornail, our security measures are under serious strain!!!!
So, anyone out there have any ideas? Easy to raise / manage / train dogs. Not supceptible to diseases and stuff. Placid and loving yet killer instinct when required (as per Kaiser).
