PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our SA rugby coach - now we know where he gets his "expressive form" of rugby from.

Don't you just hate able bodied people who park in spaces reserved for those less fortunate. This young blond was quite able to walk. Only reason I didn't tell her off was cause I was rather hoping to get her phone number.....

This is the bike I bought for LuckyL!

Have my name down to buy this bike for me, if the price is right.

On reccomendation

from two of my readers (all of them in other words), I:-
a) deleted my history (so no one one knows anything about my past?)
b) rebooted the machine (stopped short of booting it out of the window)
and I still can't post any pics.
So, the moral of the story is:-
FUCK IT!!!!

More on the High School leadership team

So, as per my previous post, GMan made prefect at school. And we had some concerns around the selection for head boy, and so on. In discussions last night at a celebratory dinner with the family, I asked about some of the selections, ie. Head boy and girl, and 2 deputies each. Turns out that:-
a) The Deputy head boy for sport, is not a sportsman.
b) The deputy head boy for culture is a sportsman, and not a culturalist (does not to drama, etc).
c) the deputy head girl for sport is a nobody - ie. does not to sport or culture.
d) The deputy head girl for culture is a sports person.
e) One of the prefect girls, who has achieved school colours for culture (drama) for 4 years running , should have been give the Deputy head girl for culture post.
f) One boy who made prefect only started at the school this year - how the hell did he qualify? What's he done to prove himself?
g) The "Coloured" boy who made head boy is mediocre with academics, does not do sport, and took part in some drama.

So, what was the selection criteria?
Suffice to say, I don't believe there was any objectivity involved. In fact, it's so suspect that some of the elected prefects have gone and asked for the votes to be made public. They want to see who was voted for, how many votes, and try and understand why some of the achievers didn't make the cut.
And, even more importantly, they want to understand on what basis the selection of head boy and head girl was made. They have committed that if it is found the top posts were selected by the headmaster, they will turn in their badges!!! The reason, and rightfully so, is that he only started at the school in January this year, and would not be in a position to make a qualified decision based on the pupils individual achievements over the past 3.5 years at the school.
I do believe we have democracy at work here, and it will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

I will have my own discussion with one of the deputy headmasters who I see every now and then in a social environment. I'm not sure that they could make any changes now, but then, with the type of kids at schools today, you never know.

Will keep you all updated as soon as things evolve.

GMan

3.5 years ago, when GMan first walked into high school, he said he wants to be Head boy one day.
This morning we attended the swearing in of the new leadership team for 2009, and he made prefect. He's a bit disappointing that he didn't make selection for Head boy, or deputy, but that's a discussion for another day.
Suffice to say me and the Princess are seriously pleased with his selection, and very proud. Well done my boy!
