More Stunning poker hands

Some of these are mine, some GMan has pulled out of the bag. Overall, it's good stuff, and makes for interesting play, especially if someone on the table has a full house. (LIU)
4x 10's - the guy with the A's in hand really thought he had this one.












4x 4's - nice hand to get, although risky to play post flop.











4x7's - after the flop, with the 2xK's to back you up - a doddle!











4x Q's - very strong play here - 3 on the flop made it a nice play, J/9 were a threat for a straight, especially once the K landed on the table. But no big raises saw me look at the river, and claim the prize.








4xJ's on the table - 3 flopped, 1 more on the turn. This must be a first ever. I would have given any odds against this possibility. Needless to say, one guy raised, and everyone else folded. An A high in hand would win it. Before the turn, my Full house was good, in fact, if the 4th J didn't come around!

that things are what they are?

Oil price through the USD130 bracket.
Gold @$900 an ounce (more or less).
Platinum around $2000 and ounce. Inflation up and climbing.
Poverty up and scaling new heights.
Protests, riots.

A Black guy gets to run for, and gets into the finals for presidency of the worlds leading nation? And this in a time where xenophobia and racism is still alive and well in most countries around the world? (Personal prediction:- If Obama makes president, he'll be dead before 100 days.....)

A nut case gets to destroy a country (Zimbabwe), and good, educated, country leaders stand by and let him?

Irrational black women are given positions in parliament, (to appease the women voters) mostly seats considered unimportant, (by a black male anyway) like The ministry of Health, and yet when she rejects the proposed conventional medication for treatment of HIV/AIDS for the countries patients, it's not important. (Rather feed them beetroot, garlic, and African potatoes.....)! (actually, if they eat enough garlic, they probably wont get laid, which could be the beginning of the end for the spreading of the disease....), (on the other hand, she could be a racist whitey in disguise - think about it)!
Another (Deputy President, mind you) takes a trip to Dubai (takes along a host of buddies, and family members. When questioned why a government plane was used, she said cause she went over on official business. And what was this business? Oh, she went to have a look at the high rise building cranes? What!?!?

Zuma (current ANC Party president - future RSA President) says he has nothing to hide around the corruption charges he's facing (or not), yet has spent millions delaying the process, trying to find ways to have evidence refuted, with held, destroyed. Why would an innocent man go to such lengths?

Is it any wonder that people like me think it's all just fucked up. I was was born at the wrong time. I think I would have fitted in better during the Boer war, or even Roman times... Then, life was what it was, without all the bullshit.

More on the fines issue

It seems there may be a glitch in the software.....

If you go into the fines page, right click each entry and open in a new window, it replicates the photo.
If however you open each icon individually, and then go back, open the next, and so on, it displays a different photo. So it seems that I do in fact have 14 fines to the value of ZAR2200 outstanding...

The DA has come back to me. And they are going to appoint one of their people to investigate it.
Apart from that, I have forwarded information to the producers of Carte Blanche!

Building in the area

In the past few weeks a lot of building work has started in the area around me.
This house, which I can see from the deck is not really big, but looking at the work happening there now, they going to expand big time.




They started by moving most of the "backyard". Rock drilling and shoveling and bringing in filling, and digging foundations - 2 - 3 weeks work.













On the basis of what I can see on Google Earth, and what I can see now, they will probably be doubling the floor area.





They have started building out from the back of the garage.... The door leads to what will probably be a store room (no windows that can be seen) and there seems to be a staircase going down to it from the floor above.

Photo finish traffic violations

Those of you who are in South Africa know about the camera speed traps. For those of you who are not South African, we have multiple sites along most roads where our esteemed Traffic enforcement staff hide behind bushes, and monitor and photograph speeding traffic. It does bugger all to slow people down, or reduce accident rates, but it's a fantastic revenue generating mechanism for the local government body!
However, it seems that greed has now stepped into the picture. To facilitate payment of fines, the Joburg Metropole has put up a web site, where you can go and register and then see what fines you have outstanding for their area.

Saturday morning thiss guy turns up at the gate at home, and issues me with a summons for an outstanding / unpaid fine. So I decide to go online, have a look at what I owe, and pay them up. My motivation for this is the fact that the Metro now also has random roadblocks, where they can pull you off the road, check online if you have any outstanding fines / summonses, and if so, will arrest you there and then, take you to the nearest police station (after keeping you locked up in the back of their van till they have a full load), and then force you to pay up / appear before a magistrate and make you pay up. The biggest fear is having to spend the night in a cell. The chances of being sodomised / beaten up / killed are probably better then 80%!
So, I go online, I have 11 fines outstanding. I open each in a separate link, and then browse through them to check that they are in fact my cars(s) (Yup, the Princess gets a couple). And what do I find?
Of the 11, 6 are of one picture, 3 of another 2 of another, and the Princess's 2 are also of the same picture!!!

So, not happy with raking in millions (yup, it's measured in millions) of Rands every month, they are now fraudulently manipulating the results of photos to make more money out of one incident. Which means that even the original offense is now questionable, as they could take your photo whilst traveling at 40km/h in a 80 zone, and manipulate the results any way they choose!!!!!!!

So, I sent them an email, and The Citizen newspaper, The DA (biggest opposition party) has a link on their site for reporting fraud / corruption, they got an email, as did one of the presenters on 702.
When I'm finished here, I'm sending a copy of this to the producers of Carte Blanche!!!
