You do not know my anger

Do you know who I am?
Do you know what I am capable of?
Do you know what I will do to you?
No, No you don't, but know this
I am your judge, jury and executioner!

You do not know my anger,
Nor do you know my name,
But soon YOU will be in danger
Soon, you will be shamed
Soon, but maybe too late.

The courts of law protect you
And only jail will save your life
For I am here, and I will hunt you.
Know this, that I am here
And forever you will fear.

Your deeds will not go unpunished
Judgement day has come,
The anger in me, and the fear
In my family, and the fear
In your victim, for all this you WILL pay!

You do not know who I am,
But I know who you are
So forever, wherever you are
Look over your shoulder
And see me there, and be afraid.

You do not belong in society
Your criminal deeds are sick
You did not know my anger
You don't know who I am
I am your judge, jury and executioner.

Rolling blackouts

Our country is in the embryo stage of becoming a banana republic. For a week or so now we have been having what is termed rolling blackouts. In other words, at various times of the day / night, power is cut to various towns / cities around the country. This is to decrease the load demand on the provider. However, instead of the promised two hours at at time, we have had dark periods exceeding 3.5 hours. What's worse is when you are traveling through the suburbs, in peak hour traffic, and the lights go out. All the traffic lights go down, and everything comes to a standstill. Took me 1.5 hours to travel 20km today!
In theory they say we produce enough power. However, forward planning of requirements stopped with the demise of the previous regime. The countries economy has been booming (more factories / offices) more power required. Electrification of the masses has probably doubled the demand. But no extra production was brought on line.
Now they are talking about taking 2 - 3 mothballed power stations back on line. The cost is close to building a new one. Maybe just quicker.
Another reason they give for the current state is that they are doing maintenance on some of the lines, in preparation for next winter. DUH? what did you do last year this time, and the year before? I recall us having severe power outages both these past winters due to equipment failure, due to POOR MAINTENANCE!!!!
More later.

And so we learn

Divemaster came over to my desk, saw me weeping with frustration and decided to put me out of my misery.
he took out his .357 Magnum, cocked it and said:-
"Download Firefox, and use that!"

So I did (I'm not about to argue with he who holds the gun) and I can once again do things to my blog. Oh, how sweet the sound of success.
Thanx Bro.
Much appreciated (why did you wait 3 weeks to give me that advice?)

PS - Hope you all like the new layout!

The Tv guy

and the braai grid aerial:-

he came down stairs to reset the booster, then went back up stairs to turn the aerial a bit. However, he'd forgotten that he had closed the sliding doors.....

And walked flat bang into them! I had to laugh, and luckily he didn't hurt himself.

Anyhow, the aerials working good, tv's are to be retuned, (we did one to check it works), as we are now facing the Pretoria signal.

But, just after he left we had a power blackout, again. More on this later. So I went to the office.

Help

I posted my problem in the help link, and got a reply, and tried the proposed solution and it's still not working. I am seriously going to consider downloading my complete blog, and then posting the whole damn thing somewhere else...
Any ideas?
Salagatle!

So here I am, waiting

for the TV guy to come out and replace the tv aerial. Going to throw out the twin aerial system, and replace it with something that looks like a braai grid (LIU). He says it will work better around here than the one that's currently installed (apart for the fact that the current one has suffered severe lightning damage!).

I have also updated the .pps invite for the Princess's party at the end of Nov. I need to get it sent i suppose. We have been limited to 40 people (20 couples) due to the size of the location we have liked, so some people wont cop an invite. But, that's the way it goes. As it is this will cost me a small fortune! It's her big 40, and she really wanted a "Venetian masked ball" theme, but it's not practical, and would be expensive, so we are asking everyone to get creative, and make their own masks.... Should be fun. We are having live music, backed up by a disco, and there is a cash bar. Will post pics after the fact...

The lotto (liu) has been restarted with the first draw to take place this weekend. And there is a guaranteed prize of ZAR15m! maybe I should get a ticket. It could just be the turning point in my life.

The recent rains (lightning damage excluded) have been wonderful for the garden, and especially the lawns. is strange, you can spray as much water as you want from the tap, but when it rains the grass really grows!

Spam

Isn't it amazing how much spam comes to your email address. Take my Yahoo one for example. I get at least 60 a day, if not more. Luckily it gets sorted into a spam folder for me, but I still have to glance through them to ensure that none of my contacts are put in there in error, especially now that I am contacting a whole bunch of international companies for information on their products for my caskets.
Some of the spam is repetitive, like 20 of the same email in one day, every day, continuously. What the hell, can't they get the message?
I also got a few of those letters that claim to have an inheritance of millions of US dollars, and they want you to help them get it out of their country.
Damn, one guy phoned me on my cell supposedly from Japan.
Anyway, I told him to email me, and then sent him a really kak response, calling him every name I could think of, swearing his mother, father, family back to the middle ages.
Needless to say he didn't come back to me, but at least I got to tell one of them off.
Doos!

I have been

trying to get pricing for handles, name plates, thumb screws and liners is like trying to get Robert Mugabe to stand down. It's no wonder that so many of our local manufacturers are turning to China and other foreign countries for supplies of bit and pieces they need to complete their products.
In 5 weeks, and, say 30 emails, I still do not have a price for one of these items. If you phone a company they say they will email you their stuff, and never do.

Also on Saturday

The Princess and a whole bunch of her friends (about 9 of them) went together to a Spa for the day. It's one of those places where you have all the massages done, and lay around in jaccuzis, and drink fancy cocktails, and have your nails done, and all that feminine crap. And pay through your nose.
Anyway, we arranged that some of the husbands would meet them back at Monte Casino (where they had left their vehicles and caught the Spa bus), and we would have dinner together, and then go back home. Needless to say, I wasn't going home till I had done a spot of gambling.

off to the smoking area, and across the room to the poker table. it was full, but I hung around watching the hands play out, and seeing how the dealer was.
Eventually one player left. I sat down and changed ZAR500 for chips. This is river poker. You get 3 cards dealt to you. Dealer gets 2. The combined cards make up your hand. You play against the house, not the other players.
Anyway, I got dealt 15 straight losing hands! Not even a pair. On my last bet, I actually stood up to get ready to leave, and I got a pair of Q's. Dealer flipped a pair of A's! great. Next hand I had pair of 10's, dealer flipped pair 7's. Eventually the table had turned, and if I knew my luck, I would win a couple of grand over the next hour or two. And the phone rang!
Princess, calling to say that the other couples who were travelling home with us wanted to leave.
Damn!
I took my winnings, cashed them in and left with ZAR350 in my pocket.
What a bummer.
next time, no one rides with us.

More on the past weekend

Apart from the excellent rugby:-
Our home was hit by lightning (again) on Saturday night while we were out.
Damages:-
2 x television sets, gate motor, intercom system, 2 x security cameras, with relevant pariphenalia (signal translator, switcher etc.),, 1 x cordless telephone, 1 x lightning arrester, 1 x tv aerial. I don't really care too much other than it's a ball ache to get the claims processed etc.

The fixtures, like the gate motor, security camera's, etc. are covered by the homeowner insurance, and the rest on the home contents insurance. So it's two seperate claims (and 2 x excess to be paid). When I called the home owners insurance, the papvreter (thanx Fishman) on the other end wanted to tell me that in future I must log the damages claim before I have the repairs done! HUH? I told him, in these words (and it's supposed to be recorded!):-
"Listen you fuckhead, this happened on Saturday night. Would you have had me and my family sleep in the car outside the gate till Monday morning 9am when you decided to get to work before I got some help? Don't be fucking stupid, and think before you speak. Now let me submit my claim before I get nasty with you!"
And he did.

The worst part of this blog

thing not working properly, is there is no one you can contact / email about it for assistance.
I did send off / log a problem on the site somewhere (I think under help) but no one comes back to you.
Damn but I am getting short on patience.....

Salagatle!

It seems this thing is getting better

I can now log into my blog directly, and post. For the past two weeks I have had to go to someone else's blog, comment, log in there as requested, and then go to my blog and update it! But I still cannot change the layout, etc. I have, however, change the look.
Any comments on it?

The weekend that was

WELL!!!!! What a weekend this was.
First, England kick Australia out of the Rugby world cup! Fantastic. It was an awesome game, with England producing more than 2 tackles a minute (at minute 73 they had made 168 tackles). This shows with how much heart these guys played. Determination, blood, sweat and tears were the order of the day. I was so impressed with their play. Real guts and blood stuff. Well done!

Then, France booted New Zealand!!! Well, if you thought I was excited with the first game, you should have seen my reaction to the second. It was unreal. Well done Froggies!!

In both games, the "favourites" scored first, led at halfway, and then lost. Interesting.

Which brings me to Sundays game. The Springboks beat the crap out of Fiji. Not that it was a walk over mind you. The Fijians are not the Rugby 7 = a - side champions for nothing, and gave us a good run, and more than a few scares on the way, but in true South African fashion we held on, fought back, and won. What scared me was the fact that the Springboks scored first, led at half time..... See the connection?
Two quick tries in succession by the Fijians had the whole pub silent where I was watching. But we won, and that what counts.
The last Quarter Final was between Scotland and Argentina, and I was rooting for the Scot's. However, it was not to be. They played damn well, and depending on your personal point of view, deserved to win (needed a little bit of luck). However, Argentina are not pushovers, and so probably deserved to win it anyway.

The good news is that after these bloody battles fought this weekend, most of the teams are sporting serious injuries, and there are bound to be some important players out of contention (well, for the semi's anyway), and I heard on the radio today that the Springbok team is complete. No injuries, so they can select the best of the best.
Good.
Now, back to battle.....
