Here is an example of the error......

Fishman, you have any ideas on this? It says "Done but with errors on page" but then it's still there...
Salagatle!

My blog is still

not working properly.
i can't log into it the normal way, I have to go to someone else's page, post a comment, and once done that I can go to my blog and add a post.
And, I still cannot sort out the look. I cannot delete anything (like the old poll) nor can I update anything (like the poll results).
if anyone out there can tell me why, please!!!

When I click on delete item / update item it says something about a java script.....? error....???
And finally, the spell check does highlight the misspelt words, but does not offer alternatives.
if there is any way I could move my whole blog to another site / service / server / .xxx I probably would by now....

Video post

I tried to post a video here of a funny scene at work yesterday, but I think it's too big, so it's not going to happen. Pity.
i also have a video (taken with my Nokia N95) of a part of last nights school drama event. They staged "My Fair Lady"! it was totally awesome, and those kids are so talented.
Maybe I can "cut" the video and get it posted... Will try when I have some time.
Later all

Thanx to all

who responded to my request for Phantom of the opera.
To Fishman, relax bro, I found it, and down loaded it, as well as a music editing package (7 days trial) and have edited it and done with it what I needed to do. So, if you still want to come and sing it to me, well, let's negotiate....

Can't edit my layout

I am getting really frustrated with this now. I can't edit my layout. The spell checker, although it will light up the words, does not offer the drop down alternatives, I can't add a list, or cgange the poll.... oh dammit, why must they always fuckaround with the code!

If it's Tuesday, I must be sitting at the cofee shop!

Yup, I am at Cafe Bacini's again, checking mail, blogging, shopping for coffin parafinalia (ok, so the spell checker isn't working, so burn me!). So far a good day, even if it's overcast, miserable, the traffic was terrible, plenty traffic light out (don't these guys know to waterproof the wiring?). At least the coffee is good, and I have an enquiry for 120 caskets a month!!!! Yup, you read it right! So now I'm in full swing to finalise pricing, and then we will see what happens.
Wish me luck!

Past and present love

We met when we were children
in a different time and place
We loved the wild experience
And shared the open space

For many years you were there
we shared a bed and home
We had two special children
As a family we were one

Then illness stole your life
it stole a mother and wife
It broke that special bond
It left us out to die

Now I have moved on my love
And the boys are all grown up
I've found there is another love
I can love once again

There can be no one other
Than you to Mother my boys
But now I now that I can
Be loved again, once more

I never will forget you
And we will meet again
But life moves forward, darling
With, or without you

I know I have your blessing
The boys have blessed me too
Your mother, father and brothers
And friends, and others too

Salagatle!

This is written especially for a special friend. You know you are dear to us, and now your new love is too. All the best, and thanks for sharing your life, and loves with us. Hope this poem is accepted for what it is.

Eating poetry

Further to a discussion I had with Divemaster Dad some time ago:-
I have over time posted about 30 poems on this blog. He suggested I have them published, but to go for a different look. So we decided that maybe aligning a recipe, and a cocktail / drink to each poem might do the trick. I've given it some thought, and think maybe one step further will do the trick.
If any of you want to, have a look at my poems, pick one, and send me your proposed recipe and alcoholic beverage for that poem. If I have the right responses I will consider putting the book together, and seeing about having it printed....

Click on the label below "Poem", and it should show / bring up my poems. Take it from there.
Good luck.

Cape Town - the party

was held in a restaurant called The Octopus. It's a small place, so they could book out the whole venue. It was great meeting up with a lot of people we haven't seen for a while, and when IvorJ eventually arrived it was on the back of a Harley! (he's an old biker, rode with me in the Roadhogs many years ago, but hasn't ridden for many years). It was a surprise arranged by his nearest and dearest as he's been dreaming of getting a cruiser for some time!

Food was great, and the party never got raucous or out of hand. methinks we are all getting to old for high revving stuff, although a fair amount of alcohol was consumed.
The Octopus has some interesting decor, and these pics, although a bit dark show off some of it.

It's located in a seaside village called St. James, named after a church which had been built there in the 1800's, and which was demolished (why?) in 1900.

We eventually left at 1am, and safely drove the 17 km back to our hotel.

Cape Town - the day after ( this post should follow the party one, whatever)

We decided to do a bit of the tourist thingy seeing as we still had the whole day to kill, and nothing to do, and we were only going to a braai at IvorJ's (the birthday boy's) house much later. So we headed off towards Hout Bay thinking to take the Chapmans drive around to meet with some friends.

Hout bay yacht basin.

Hout bay, as usual is great, and I got some more great pics.(This Nokia N95 has a fantastic camera!) Then up to Chapmans only to find it had been closed due to some serious rockfalls.

Old harbour defense cannons.

So we drove the long way round, through Constantia, and down to Fish Hoek. There we had arranged to meet with some friends from back home who were also down for the party, and were also going to the braai. The Brass Bell is a historical place, and if you come to the Cape and don't visit there for at least one drink, you haven't been to the Cape.
View from the deck at the Brass Bell.

We had lunch, our friends were late as usual, and then moved on to the local antique shops. i can spend hours perusing there little shops, full to the ceiling with many wonderful, old, collectables. One of them had a wall of minatures, probably 1000 bottles. One of these days I'm going to buy the whole lot. Every time I come down here I go back to that shop. It's Beautiful!
Due to the windy conditions, there were many yachts out.

From there we drove on to the hotel the other guys were staying in. Nice sea views and stuff. Had another drink, and then up to IvorJ's house for the braai. He has a home in an area called Glen Cairn. It's a lovely wood structure home, built up on the side of a steep hill. Excellent views from there.

The view from IvorJ's balcony.

We had a pleasant evening getting to know his new fiance (he's widowed some years now), and his Mom was over from the UK, and his stepdad. Nice bunch of people. His two boys (great kids) were there with their girlfriends. All in all a great evening had by all.

Left for home quite late, but then it was only a 20 minute drive back to the hotel.
