Comment - counter comments & debates

Dx said...
I posted a comment here yesterday but it's not showing for some reason. Did it come through or was it lost? My main points were:I don't normally get involved in this type of debate.Seems you and Anon got off to a bad start by exchanging abuse, which makes it difficult to have real debate and maybe even learn something. Not sure if being an atheist equates with being bad.I also think the main difference of opinion between you and Anon is that you seemed to be saying that the issue was colour while Anon was saying that the issue was about thieving and nothing to do with colour.I suspect these polarised standpoints won't be made better by the comments that have been posted, which is a pity.

DX - You have a point, debate would be good / better. However there is one thing that must be remembered here - this is my blog, and a space where I vent my frustrations / feelings. I don't always come across as politically correct, or racially unbiased, but that's me. In my previous life (current one with 25 years removed) my reaction would have been physical violence, a matter which landed me in hot water too many times.

I wish all of you could see our kids faces and the fear when this all happened !Your comments are your own, one day you will see the other side of the coin when it happens to you and your kids. We got lucky they did not use guns etc...Hope you can say the same, when it happened to you .

Seaman - you are absolutely correct, and the fact that my son, LuckyL has a fear as it is does not help. Living in SA gives one a very different view / outlook on life - having neighbours like Zimbabwe makes us, as whites, very wary / scared. Thanx for your support!!

We live in a country with more people being killed than in a war zone. Unfortunately if you do not stay here there is no way for me to explain to you the constant fear that we live in. So till then I think we will agree that you can’t really make comments on the situation that we find ourselves in.

Fishman, there was a report a few month ago that said there were more murders in SA over a period of time than people killed in the Iraqi conflict over the same period. Makes you think....

oh boy Wreckless...seems you got a fan!for what its worth dude...I'm a proud white racist. So what.. to quote the words of Napoleon, "if I was black I would be for the blacks, but since I'm white, I'm for the whites!"..and any thieving little pekkies I catch up to no good, the only thing that sees them right is a damn freeking hard hiding with a sjambok..finish and klaar! The Afrikaner knows how to keep the peks in check, and its not with mooi praat!

Aunty - what can I say - u call a spade a spade - people may not like it - may not agree - but that's you! keep reading and commenting!

Wreckless your anon sounds a lot like our Pro-RSA person

Meerkat - I need to check that out...... Anon makes sense - if you are outside looking in. I don't believe he's involved in SA as we are, and even though he may have read a lot of stuff - you can't believe all you read.

It looks like I missed a bit of excitement there! I made a post about Kwanzaa (copied and pasted from wikipedia) on SAS and was branded a racist, and now I'm a supremacist simply by virtue of being Christian. Hmmmm, it's very hard to debate when your "opponents" resort to name calling.Would your anonymous poster like to live in a city like Detroit? If not, why not?

J - you always bring a calmness to any debate. - Remember it is written that you will be challanged for your belief! Remember that to want the best for yourself and those you love is not necessarily wrong, even by God's standard.

Well, he said a lot of stuff - please read it in the comments section of my previous post.....

Anon - thank again for the comment. You talk about a lot of things, and some you are right, some you are welcome to your opinion.
I would suggest you follow the Zimbabwe situation over the past 10 years, and then you will see where the fears that the whites in our country come from. And don't say it cannot happen here, because the current government is not delivering on it's promise to the masses, and they are rising in revolt. I'm not sure what you guys get to read wherever you are, but we are daily faced with protests over housing / electricity and water access / corrupt officials. We have a civil service sector, (Home affairs / hospitals and clinics / straining under the ingress of illigle aliens from our neighbours Zimbabwe and to some extent Mozambique. In fact they estimate that up to 50% of the Zimbabwe population are now in South Africa, and of these up to 95% illegally.

Anyway, I thing that debate is good, and that as we go along we make friends / lose friends based on our comments / thoughts / perceptions. To some I am racist, to others, just a shit scared middle aged white male living in a new South Africa.

Comments

I got a comment on my crime post by some guy who thinks the problem relates to the good old days of Apartheid. I responded in kind, and he did too, and so did I again. I'm posting it here for the rest of you who might be interested in this train of thought / conversation.

They're probably lucky being HIV-AIDS victims. Could be lot worse. They could be victims of apartheid. Oh, did I say I was white?

Wreckless said...
Anon - victims of apartheid? That old, long dead flogging horse, I don't think so, you see, these three little KAFFIRS were about 12/13/14 years old. They are of the current regime, and what they know and do is thanks to the current regime. Don't come and try to lay a guilt trip on me bro - fuck you and those 3 little kaffirs! Salagatle! (spelling corrections done here)

Loved your response to my last comment. Didn't expect you to have a guilt trip - supremists seldom do but nice to hear that you're still using that old Arabic/Muslim word "Kaffir". And let's face it, if you still have an Apartheid mentality, black kids are still going to have their thief mentality. As for Jeanine, had a look at her blog and guess what, she's a Christian and you don't get much more supremist than that.

Wreckless said...
Oh, so now I'm a racist - the word Kaffir means non believer for a start. As for the old apartheid mentality, well refer my post on Witness... (http://soufafrican.blogspot.com/2007/03/witness-khumalo.html)- as for Christians, it's no wonder you have the attitude you do, you are either a raghead (read Muslim) or an Athiest, and in today's world I don't know what's worse, other than to say, you have no say cause you are, as we say here in SA, a fence sitter. Have a nice day and please call again! Salagatle!

I have no problem with his / her comments. What does irk me is:-
a) He / she posts anonymously - so no balls to show themselves for what they are - maybe if they had a blog we could read it and understand them.
b) He / she has no knowledge of real life here in South Africa - and the reasons why some people are anti -black as opposed to racist.
c) He refers to me a supremist, and well, I don't believe I am. What I do know is that I have morals and abide by the law of the land, no matter who or what is the government of the day.
d) I also know, for a fact, that no matter where they go in the world, and what their eventual final standing in the community might be, most (not all), most of Africans are at the forefront of crime and criminal activity. If you see burning cars in France, it's black kids doing it. I don't question their reason, only their actions). If there is a gang land murder in the US, 9 out of 10 times it's a black kid. So it's cause of his circumstances you say. Crap, I can show you a country full of poor people living in abject poverty that don't revert to lawlessness!
If there is a case of civil servants involved in crime, from a messanger up to a Vice President, which makes the news daily, it's going to be in an African country. And if you want to see a country which went from Bread basket of the continent to the begging bowl of the world, look no further, it's African, and just to the north of the good old RSA!
Just my thoughts.

Vodacom - final?

I have got my phone and number all to myself! No more link back to my company, which means I can now port / cancel, just as I please! And, believe it or not, for two days in a row now I got what must be termed, by Vodacom standards, incredible service! yup, I said it!! The lady who yesterday connected my replacement sim card in 20 minutes, today also helped me get the EMEI number of my stolen phone so that I can block it / black list it, and she did so in 3 minutes! I have her name, and email address and telephone number, and within 2 days will no longer need it as I am porting to MTN!!! Pity, but that's the way this shit goes.

New service provider, new cellphone. Se la Vie!!!

Vodacom!

What can I say? Another fiasco, another day of BAU! On Saturday when I had my stolen sim card blocked I bought a new one. And then asked that they initiate this one against my original Cellphone number. They said it would take 4 - 24 hours. By Sunday afternoon it wasn't done. i called the help desk. The idiot (3% brain power) didn't know why it was not activated. And could also not tell me by when. Monday, on our drive home from the coast I called again. Another 3%ter.... Said nothing had been done yet. I asked them to get it done.
Tuesday morning, I'm at the office and place another call. The first dumb fuck took the brunt of it. After confirming my number, name, id number, postal address he asked me which bank I banked with. I lost it completely, using every expletive I could summon, and asked if he wanted a semen, urine and blood sample as well? Then I asked him to put me through to someone with at least 7% brain power.... He did.
This fuck went the same route as the first, and took the same abuse, as did numbers 3,4 and 5!!

Number six, I'm now up to a 15% brain power person, and within 2 minutes she had activated the sim card!?!?!? Now why could she and no one else? Was it because I told her that the next person I wanted to speak to was either Alan Knot-Craig, or God!

Anyway the cell phone is operational!

I then sent a request to the CFO for an official / letterhead letter giving instruction to Vodacom to port my number.
Hope to get it in the morning, and will then finalise this process and move to MTN. Another crappy service provider, but Vodacom will give me a heart attack!

Some stuff from our trip

My brother shows how he does a "barbeque"! The fire is on the trailer so the dogs can't get to the meat, and the "braai master" is on the ladder so the snakes can't get to him!
The Jolly Rubino - please refer to my crime spot.
Me, checking out the waves while some dirty HIV/AIDS riddled bastards were busy stealing my wallet and cellphone....
