Good Friday and queenie

This was written 15 April at 11 pm.....
Today was Good Friday, and I had almost forgotten why we celebrate this day.

We moved Queenies stuff in today. My workaholic brother managed to convince her that
it would be much cheaper if we renter a trailer and moved her ourselves. Turns out he's right (but I knew that), just it's a lot more effort. Anyway, we managed to move most of her stuff in two trips, with the help of two unemployed guys we picked up on the street corner. All that's left is her clothes and curtains, but she wants to move her clothes herself in the car, and the curtains will stay where they are till she sells / rents out the flat.

I got her telephone linked up, and the TV is connected to the aerial. Only need to finish connecting the intercom to the gate control and it's all done!

It's been great having the family visiting and they have been a great help all round.

Sunday, Easter, we are having my Mom and my brothers’ in-laws for Sunday lunch. Will probably do a braai (barbeque) and some salads and stuff. Should be a nice enough day.

The rain has held back for some time now, so maybe the rains have come and gone for this season. Going to be a very cold winter though, what with all the moisture still in the ground from the massive amounts of rain we had in the beginning of this year.

Princess is doing well. She's more mobile now, although not overdoing it as yet. Rather err on the safe side and rest for as much as possible. Too many ladies have done themselves much harm by trying to get back into normal routine too soon.

Gman has been absent for most of the time since the kids got back from their holiday at Sun City. If it's not sports, it's visiting a friend here, helping another there, or some or other function at the church. Can't wait for the schools to reopen so that I can "pull-him-in"!

LuckyL has been most helpful around the house and in the garden. So different these two boys of mine.....

By the way, since queens new apartment is somewhat smaller than the one she was in, her leather lounge suite is now in my lounge. Quite cool! And it goes so well with the other decor!! We moved our old one into the bar area, and the other old one out of the bar and into the basement where we are in the process of creating a teenage lounge.

Next thing to go downstairs is the "foosball" table. Damn thing is so noisy!!

This is a new dev. Currently under construction. They plan to fit 104 units on that piece of ground!

This is another, existing complex on the left, and a retirement home complex on the right.. Bigger units, but very close together , and small units, cramped together.

It's been a while....

It's been a while since I posted anything. Been a busy time for me. The kids and queen got back from Sun City on Friday afternoon. They had a fantastic time. It also gave me a chance to go out to the club and just chill for a while....

Saturday my brother and his wife and daughter arrived, and we went from "Just the 2 of us...." to a "Full house"!!

It's always great having then here, and my SIL (sister in law) will be a big help with the Princess. But my brother can't sit still for 5 minutes, which means he's always pushing for me to do something with him. Clean out the garage, move some rocks in the yard, paint the gate..... he's a nutter that way!

But then at least it means I get a lot of those little things done. They will be with us till just after the Easter weekend. So I'm back at work, and have "the help" back home taking care of things.

Coming back to work isn't so great either. First two days I have spent in training. Seems someone decided I was / am a good candidate for a QA course. Means that I now will be able to Quality Assure low risk proposals!?

it may be a way for me to move out of the high risk sales field, and into a "management" type function. Will have to wait and see.

Also got an invite to an "Executive session" next week with the big boss of my department. Not sure why... , will post a report on that once it's done.

For now, I'm keeping a low profile doing everything to the book, and keeping my nose clean.
